Great nutrition tracker, good looking, durable, easy to use.
It's a great kitchen tool, I mostly just use it for measuring lb:oz and grams but you can also measure floz and mL assuming (that the scale has been programmed with the foods density?). I'm not sure how that is handled. That being said, instantly being able to see the Calories, Carbs, Fat, Cholesterol, Sodium, Protein and fiber in whatever I have on the scale is PHENOMENAL if you are trying to count macros or anything. The auto power off is kind of obnoxious because powering on auto calibrates to zero so if I have a plate with something on it for a while then am preparing more of the same thing for example then when I go to put on the additional food there is a chance I will have lost the data for that first portion. Maybe having it not auto calibrate after being turned off from power saving would be a good compromise? The quick reference on the top of the scale is GREAT for fruits and vegetables that don't often come with their own nutrition label. I like to add my own foods that do come with a nutrition label so that I am more accurate in my counting. It's pretty light but feels very durable. If you drop it from a kitchen counter 4' or so onto wood or vinyl you should be totally fine. I haven't tested that very extensively(for obvious reasons). Very easy to clean if food gets on it because of the flat smooth surface. Nice aesthetic appeal. Overall I would say that if you are counting your calories and macros or trying to track your cholesterol, this thing can make that one step easier which can make all the difference in your health! 4.75/5 Aesthetic: 5/5 Ease of use: 4/5 Customizability 5/5 Durability 5/5? I've not received this product for free, nor for a discount. I WAS reached out to write a review but I assume that's just because it had no reviews as of yet and have been offered no compensation. I, after first reviewing this product and stating a concern about the 999 custom foods only allowing 999 foods total rather than 1998 as I had anticipated, was contacted and have been told by the producer of this item: "To clarify the scale comes with 999 preloaded foods in it's database. You can add 999 new and different foods to the scale" Apparently my concern stems from ease of use rather than mislabeling, I will have to try it out again later and figure this out. Either way, as I've said, it's a great product.

Works as advertised and great customer service
Love the scale and it is very simple to use. Had a question about one of the downloads available on the website and received an email reply within 1 day. I sent the question between Christmas and New Year's and did not expect a reply until after New Year's. The scale as a scale alone (not considering the nutrition features) is quite nice. It is very thin and easy to store sideways in a cabinet but is attractive enough to leave out. It has a nice amount of space above the display so that even a decent sized bowl will not cover up the display (an issue I had with my previous scale). I tested it on a few known quantities and it measured true. The nutrition information is very nice. I particularly like the memory feature that allows you to store weights from several nutrition codes and then recall the aggregate. This is helpful for, as a simple example, measuring the calories from a bowl of cereal, and aggregating the milk and cereal and fruit added, etc. It is very easy to use functionally and the surface is smooth so it wipes down easily. Would recommend.

Useful for Travel
I travel for a living, and wanted a way to weigh my food to help maintain good health on the road. This scale has been wonderful. It's small and light so it was easy to make room for it in my backpack, and once I arrive I just put batteries in and set it on a flat surface and it's ready to go. I haven't used the food logging/creation function very much because I tend to use MyFitnessPal for that, but it does come in handy sometimes for foods that you might weigh regularly, for example locally-made breads or cooked chicken breast. Recently my scale's calibration was thrown off during travel, and there is unfortunately no way to calibrate this scale, so it has to be replaced. Mackie Scientific is sending a new one *FREE*, which is wonderful! However it feels wasteful to throw the original scale out after less than a year of use :/ I really wish there were a way to fix it myself. So far that is the only downside. If you don't travel frequently you probably won't have to worry about calibration. An excellent product, easy to use and accurate. Highly recommend!

Great carb scale!
This scale has been great! It's very durable and has a good selection of food codes (FDA?). I haven't tried it for calculating ingredients going into something I'm making (like a quiche) but I'm sure I could and have a better idea on how many carbs (or fat, or protein, or.. ) are in each serving. Just wish I had a book with all the food codes...

Amazing product to help track Macros
I did my fair share of research before choosing a kitchen scale. I'm so glad I found this scale! The scale is extremely accurate and you are able to weigh out your food in various measurements (g, oz, etc). I like the sleek design of the scale and best of all, the nutrition information! The scale already has a lot of foods programmed into it but you can also add your own & save them for future use. This is the main reason I bought this scale! I am able to track my protein, carbs and fat intake easily. It takes a little learning on how to create custom food codes but the instructions are easy to follow and once you learn it, everything will go so much faster the next time you use it. The only issue I have had is when I am trying to "recall" a custom code that I have saved, I have to hold down the "recall" button for 3 seconds but it doesn't always work. Sometimes I have to turn off and on the scale and try again until it lets me recall a food code. If I didn't have that issue, it would be 5 stars forsure! I would still say it's worth the investment if you want something to track nutritional value. If you are only trying to track weight, then I would choose a cheaper and more simple scale.

Great scale and great company behind it!
Even though there was only one review on Amazon for the NutraTrack Mini Nutrition Scale at the time I was looking to purchase a nutritional scale, I took a leap of faith and ordered it. Here is why - all the other scales had reviews that revealed one or more issues that would impact my use of the product. I am so glad to report that I made a great choice with the NutraTrack and the company behind it (Mackie Scientific)! The first NutraTrack I received had a minor flaw. I called Mackie Scientific to ask a question regarding this, and they immediately sent me a replacement, followed up with me to assure all was well with the replacement, and did all of this in a friendly and professional manner, as well as supplying me with very good info as to usage of the product. As for the NutraTrack itself – all the numbers and calculations are easy to read, as well as the booklet that comes with it that has the additional food codes. It is sleek and easy to store and access in my small kitchen, is accurate, can add up all my carbs from a single meal, day, week or longer. The NutraTrack is easy to wipe clean, and has many of the foods I eat on a daily basis printed right on the top. I have never used a nutritional scale prior to this purchase, and found it easy and intuitive to use, with little or no learning curve. I strongly recommend the NutraTrack, as well as the company that stands behind it!

Tested; true results. You will love this scale.
The Mackie Scientific scale is something that I have been playing around with for about a week now. For reasons you will see, I am writing them a review; which I rarely ever do for a product. For a quick summary of the review, please read the overview below this. For more in depth thoughts, read past that. Overview: At a form factor size of 6" wide x 10" high and only just over 1/2" thick this scale really packs in the options you need for ease of access and a balance between display size and usability. You can easily program over 900+ foods of your own; they do not waste the space by forcing 2000+ foods you won't use on to you. Accuracy is very reliable and consistent! Customer service via email is fast and easy. Yes; they kindly respond quickly and are located in Washington state, USA company! This is a small company with a great product that they care about! With this scale you will get consistent results; very accurate results, great functions such as; Memory recall (to add values together at the end), Fast easy custom settings (access your custom numbers by holding down the "recall" button for 3 seconds until the "C" appears on the screen). I highly recommend this product and have spoken to them about where their nutritional values come from. This is why its so rare to find a scale that is so customizable and for this price. If you are really in the market for a scale, you already care; so why not get one that really lets you take control, since this is the only way you can really make it fit to your life style and diet needs. Pros: Size and light weight; Easy to program; Big screen; Comes with AAA batteries; 900+ foods you can program; 900+ common foods programmed already; Easy button sizes; Accuracy that is consistent within 1g; Great company that replies and helps; Great for diabetics and nutritional minded people. Cons: No real cons to mention, other then it may not see consistently less than 10g in weight, which is like 5 small nuts. I suspect this is just because of an "activation weight". This is not a bad thing as the weight never gets lost when you get over that weight it still reads the entire weight. Read in depth review. By holding down the "save" button you can program 900+ foods of your own! This is the greatest ability when paired with other features I will mention. If you are a true foodie, or diabetic (like my gf), or want to truly manage your diet; programming yourself is a must. Most scales come with 1,900+ junk food, cereals, and not fully accurate nutritional values. I program most all of my foods; Simply hold down the "save" button and add the code you want, followed by all the nutritional values. Hold down the "recall" button for 3 seconds to enter custom value mode ( the letter "c" will be displayed and it will beep to acknowledge you entered custom mode for your codes.) You do not need to enter custom mode to create them, only to use them. It's rare to find a scale that uses AAA batteries or comes with them as well. Some use 9V, some may not come with batteries. I like to be able to use rechargeable batteries so 9v is annoying on other scales. The fact it comes with batteries adds to the value and out of the package convenience. I also did a raw almond test on it, weighing almond raw organic nuts. I compared the 1/4 serving gram weight to what was on the package in a 1/4c measure after zeroing it out; spot on! This is also how I found that it did not see the weight consistently until about 10g was on the scale. Testing just almonds under 10g weight yielded varied results that changed. After 10g (about 8 almonds), it was always consistent. This does not mean that its "missing" the weight of 10g when it weighs items; rather that it see's every gram within 1 gram accuracy after the activation weight of about 5-10grams is met. I literally have been using it to weigh mint leaves and its accurate, as long as you are meeting the activation weight. I've tested this also by zeroing out a bowl (about 192g weight) and adding mint leaf and it has no issues. This product has a easy recall function to store the values of multiple ingredients as you measure and add them together for you. The ability to program over 900 custom values is also perfect! If you care about your health and are tracking things such as carbs, you will care to put the time in to programming food how you eat it. An example is; as a diabetic some foods have carbs but also Fiber carbs. If I am juicing for us, it's most accurate to subtract the fiber carbs that are in the vegetables since they are not "fast acting carbs" for insulin and also removed by the juicing process. Thus I have custom values simply for juicing items vs cooking with them. A scale is not just something you want to surf through 2,000+ preprogrammed items that you may not use and locate codes in a book for. This is a product that allows you to customize and enter nutritional values for your life style, and built to last. I have to say that I have really enjoyed everything about this scale. I have created a data base of food values that fit our ideal eating style, and that can be modified if need be. Meals that I always use the same level of ingredients for and are easily duplicatable I have even assigned their own food code after figuring out the value of carbs per single gram with combined ingredients. Once things are set, it's a really impressively easy experience. For the price of this item and quality of it and the company, you will enjoy using it as well as feeling satisfied with how well it helps you control or know what you are eating. I demand consistency, and ease of use and this product delivers. I hope this helps greatly for anyone interested. I am giving this 5 stars for quality of product; transparency and honesty of the company; ability to customize every food value you would like; and being a product that really is more "yours" the more that you use it and enjoy it for your life style. Any Questions, just ask!

Totally Worth Buying!!
Recently I’ve started gaining weight and I needed to find a solution fast to help me know what I was putting in my body. Im a young adult and used to be able to eat anything I wanted in pretty much any amount and my weight stayed the same no matter my activity level. Within the past year, that’s significant my changed, and I was hopeful this scale would assist me in managing my calories. First off, I LOVE how easy it is to use. The scale has a ton of food codes that are easy to find and read, but the booklet that is included has even more! What I also love about this scale is I can input about 900 MORE food codes of my own compared to other scales! I’ve included pictures to show what the scale looks like on and off, and I showed the code that I input before weighing the cooked pasta leftover from last night’s meal (code circled in red in two pictures). The screen is big and clearly shows how many grams of pasta there was (I “tared/zeroed” out an empty plastic baggie, which was only 1 gram), and then in yellow I have the calories circled. I love that this also shows all of the other nutrients like sodium, fiber, protein, carbs, and fat! It’s made measuring everything a breeze! Loving being able to more easily choose nutrient dense food rather than calorie dense food!
