The stretch belt set-up for the air conditioner compressor on my sedan is extremely difficult to work with. The more common stretch-fit belt installation tool ( Gates 91030 Engine Tool ) that is effectively a small cylinder with a screw through it just...would not work. It would simply not fit on the crankshaft pulley. I ended up driving around without air conditioning for about a week because I had to give up on doing this job.This kit was very easy to work with -- I was able to work on the belt with a minimum of effort and stress to the belt itself. When you watch the instructional DVD that is delivered with this tool kit, you will note that you will be turning the crankshaft pulley with a socket. Before you get started, you will want to ensure that you have a socket that fit your crankshaft pulley's center bolt. On my car, it was 21mm -- this is larger than the largest socket in most sets, including my 200-piece Craftsmen socket set. Luckily, my lugnuts are also 21mm, so I was able to use one of my lugnut sockets.

Take a look at your car before you spend the money. My AC compressor was only held on by 4 bolts and was significantly easier to take off than using these things. I spent more time figuring out how to use these than the whole job would have taken had I never bothered attempting to use them.

I got this for replacing the belts on my 2007 Mazda 3. It worked like a charm for removing both the old A/C belt. Having the old belt saved my but when I discovered that the aftermarket A/C belt that the shop sold me was slightly too long and wouldn't work without squealing like a stuck pig. This is a must have tool if you have a stretch type belt on your vehicle.

I bought this to help me replace the A/C belt on my 2007 Mazda 3. Unfortunately it doesn't fit in the tight space I have to work in. So it may or may not work for your particular application. Hopefully I can use it on another vehicle.

I bought this product to remove and install AC belt on my my Mazda 3. It does the job very well. You may need a second person to help when installing the belt unless the engine is outside the car.
