Carhartt Firm Duck Dog Bed, Durable Canvas Pet Bed, Carhartt Brown, Large

This is the first indestructible dog bed I have found. The durable cotton canvas material is comfortable for our dog, since it is not plastic and won’t ‘charge’ her. The filling has another cover on that makes the pillow stay in shape. My dog is a total nibbler and with any bed that we bought for her in the past, she would always find the zipper and destroy the bed quickly, by opening and destroying the zipper, and pulling out the filling, or she would scratch the bed and the material would come apart. We have had this dog bed for about four months now, and it is in the same condition that it came in. She sleeps on it every night in her crate and even will go in her crate during the day to sleep on it. Before we had the bed, she would not want to go in the crate at all, but since we got it, she loves going in her crate (which is a huge relief to me). Just as a comparison, we bought her the big Kong bed that also has the same canvas on the outside of it, and some polyester-ish surface on top; She found the zipper on that one in no time and even bit through that canvas, which seems to be thinner than this one from Carhartt. We bought the medium size Carhartt dog bed that fits perfectly in our dog crate, but I am about to order the same one in a large size so she can sleep on it during the day in the living room. While the price is higher than that of other dog beds, in my opinion, it is absolutely justified, since it will last you much longer than any other bed, if you have a destructive dog like mine. Cleaning is easy as well, since you just have to open the zipper, take the filling out (which is contained inside another cover), and throw the cover in the washing machine. The filling, of course, cannot be washed. I like to lay it outside in the sunlight for some natural disinfection (and spray a little vinegar-water mix on it). Although I don’t anticipate needing a replacement anytime soon, if we do need one, it will definitely buy the same bed again.

I bought one of these, size large, almost 3 years ago. My ~80 pound dog spends many hours on it every day. She's not a big chewer so I cannot comment on the "chew proof" quality. In other respects it has held up very well. There's not much to distinguish it from other beds (no faux fur, no bolsters). Well, there's the Carhartt look. Otherwise, it's just a simple, rectangular, well-made dog bed. The plain design means there aren't a lot of nooks and crannies to trap fur, dust, and debris. If you're familiar with Carhartt work clothes, the quality and style is about the same. The brass zipper is concealed under a flap and it stays closed, unlike the cheap plastic zipper on my dog's other bed, which is one of those big fluffy donut-shaped beds that gets tons of positive reviews on Amazon. This Carhartt bed seems to be more durable and easier to clean. The filling does not flatten out much (again, unlike the other bed's) but is soft enough that she can scrunch it up like a pillow. "Large" is about perfect for her. We've always had it on an area rug; on bare hardwood floors, it might slip around. Unfortunately, the price has skyrocketed from the $77.50 I paid in 2020. I suspect a lot of that increase is to cover the "free" shipping costs.

This is a very durable bed. I purchased one of these about 14 most ago, it has held up extremely well with a 75lb Mal and an 85lb German shepherd jumping and flopping around on it. I just ordered another one yesterday as well. I am sure it is not chew proof, nothing made of fabric is, luckily, I haven't had this feature tested, but, I know my dogs can chew through about anything. It is easy to clean, hair doesn't get embedded in the fabric, and mud and dirt come off easily. They are thick and fluffy, though, they do flatten out a bit over time, as with any pillow, all one has to do is fluff it to restore the shape. Excellent dog bed, and will last a long time.

Regular dog beds tend to have a flimsy “backside” or bottom. Like the manufacturers have never seen a dog scratch at it’s bedding to fluff it up. Our dog has gone through so many beds, it isn’t even funny. The idea of spending $50 on a bed that wouldn’t last a year made of a flimsy plastic like material made me throw up a little in my mouth. Then my husband came across these carhart beds. Oh. My. Goodness!!! This bed rocks!!! Our lab has peeled out on it plenty of times and the fabric is holding up like a champ. That dog has kicked and scratched and tossed the bed around while doing his fluffing routine and it still looks great! This dog bed is worth the price. I can see it lasting for a good long while, and it’s pretty easy to clean. In the long run it will save us money because we won’t have to replace it often. Well made. Strong fabric. Easy to clean. I couldn’t have asked for more.

Finally! Dog beds that my dogs won’t chew. The canvas is thick and will last a few doggy lifetimes. The zipper quality is also good. The dogs love the beds. I deducted one star because the insert is covered in that papery fabric material that tends to tear and deteriorates over time. For the price and quality of the rest of the bed, I expected a fabric covered insert.

We've been searching for a high quality dog bed that delivers; with a name like Carhartt, it's no wonder this bed stands apart. Quality craftsmanship, heavy duty zipper, and strong, durable fabric make this bed the best one we've ever owned. Most dog bed manufacturers advertise "high quality" with a picture of what appears to be luxurious, comfy, and durable...and yet, when they arrive they fail miserably. We decided to spend a bit more, based solely on the name and proven performance, and we are so glad we did! Our chocolate lab is nearly 100 lbs and he definitely lives up to his name..."Brutus". This is his fourth bed in less than a year and it's the ONLY one that his withstood his rough & tumble attitude. I highly recommend this to anyone who is willing to pay a little extra to get quality and performance that will not disappoint!

Our pup loves to run and flop on this bed. Sturdy, soft and doesn’t collect debris when taking pup out to breweries etc. Shake, brush off and you are good to go. Nice zipper for removal of cover for easy washing as needed. We love it. Pup loves it!

I was so put off by all the negative reviews here I nearly didn’t buy, but I’m so glad I did. The bed is good value for money, thick canvas, easy to clean, weather resistant - basically what you expect from Carhartt. And my dog loves it, will now choose to sleep outside on this bed rather than her regular bed in the house. My dog is not a chewer and pretty well trained and supervised, so can’t really comment about how well it stands to dogs tearing them up. I suppose when it comes down to it, if that’s the sorta dog you have it’s going to wreck any brand of bed you buy. I love this bed, and when it’s worn out in years to come, I will rush to buy another.

Se nota que es una excelente calidad, el relleno puede mejorar, pero compré la versión con relleno sencillo. Repele el agua y los orines, es muy fácil de limpiar y aspirar, al llegar la tuve que desodorizar porque olía como industrial, como salida de la fábrica, pero de ahí en más todo bien, es de muy buena calidad y la mejor opción por el precio y el plus es que la Mila la adora. Quedó excelente en la transportadora Skudo 6. Compré la mediana, Mila pesa 15 kg y altura a la cruz de 48cm, 5 meses.

I have a 90lbd lab and he loves this bed. Its difficult to get him off it, its a bit big for him but hes able to snuggle up and never leaves. He would rather be outside in the canadian winter lying on his bed than inside his dog house. (he repeatedly will pull it out of his house so he cant sit on it outside even when its snowing). Great product and very durable

Had this for a few months now great quality very strong, washes up good, my Boxer hasn’t damaged it at all.
