Really awesome ship, very tough at times but worth it! Larger size is cool too!
Love my Metal Earth models, they are very fairly priced and take anywhere from 30 minutes to multiple hours to build. I highly recommend them to those who are looking for an affordable hobby. I bought the Metal Earth Tool Kit as well as another third party one from amazon and I mainly just use the Metal Earth Tool Kit.I have a stack of models to build and love spending the evening working on them, just practice some beginner level models as you will only get frustrated on anything above Moderate. I'm still working up to the "Challenging" difficulty level and often it's more fun to just build a bunch of easy-moderate level then to get stuck on a hard one and get frustrated. You will have broken and bent pieces when you first start but be patient and have fun!In regard to THIS Model:This model is one of my favorite and by far the hardest I have done, I haven't ventured into "Challenging" difficulty level yet but this is considered Moderate and it took me at least a few hours so just be patient and take it slow. Would highly recommend you start on easier models first.

Great gift for my husband
Purchased this for my husband's birthday, and he LOVED it! It was his second one (wouldn't recommend for a first-timer), he got the hang of making one of these with an easier "starter" one I gave him the day before. When this came in the mail he was super eager to get started, and in fact started working on it that very night. He was extremely careful and meticulous, and it came out absolutely beautiful! He can't wait to make more of these models, and I hope they keep making more elaborate ships like this!Worth noting: you'll need tools for this. I had a bunch of tools from making jewelry, and these were just perfect for what he needed. Also needed, is patience, lol. Start to finish, taking his time, this gave my husband several hours of fun, and now it's sitting above the fireplace where it looks great!

Pretty hard but It wasn't too bad
If you did the black pearl before this, it won't feel too hard..atleast for me it wasn't too bad. There were some hard to reach parts. If you have the tools, it won't be too bad. I guess I'm glad my hands are small lol if you are new to this, it will be really hard. You just need a lot of patience.

Excellent Model, but much harder than I thought from description
I enjoyed the challenge OF this model. I have done several and this is the hardest to date. It is very nice once it is finished. Not suggested as the first model tried. You will be pleased when you finish doing it well. Patience a must.

Super cool piece
Super cool item. Purchased for a gift. Amazon sent it in a box that was way too small and it was warped. I've placed it under a heavy book to bend it back.

Tough
These metal models are tough. I have tried several of them and ruined every one, even though I consider myself a skilled modeler, having completed many wooden ship models from small to large. I have the tools and magnifying glasses to do these but it just doesn't work. The bending and fitting is logical, but I always reach a point where the thing won't go together and the metal is distorted beyond repair. Anyone who can complete one of these properly - hats off to you.

Not for beginners
I’ve done quite a few of these now, including the other two ship models like this one. Dang was this one fiddly. I’m so glad they give you backup lanterns in case they overbend and snap. I absolutely recommend this model, because it’s beautiful when it’s done, but you’ll need lots of patience and some eye rest. Doing this as your first metal model would be pure masochism.
