Birds of a Feather

I bought this book as a gift for my mother who is just getting started in quilting. I must admit that I don't know anything about quilting myself, so cannot comment upon its effectiveness for quilters in regard to the directions and charts, etc... But it is a beautifully illustrated book with lots of photographs of some pretty gorgeous quilts!! I've already found several that I'm hoping my mother might someday make for my home! The authors of this book also produce fabrics for quilters and crafters which are beautiful. They also design many beautiful counted cross-stitch charts and books with PERFECT directions on how to create finished projects (such as pincushions, needle keeps, various boxes and baskets, etc...). This book does have one counted cross stitch project in it that I could find, and I believe it was accompanied by directions for finishing the needlework into a pincushion. I think this would be a welcome addition to any quilting library.

I have not yet started the quilt I loved on Pinterest, but hope to before too long. I have made several Blackbird designs and they are all lovely. I was very happy to find this book.

For any quilter interested in a years long project of beauty & skill building this is the perfect guide.

I like it just haven't had a chance to use. I know I will because I really like birds

Planning on doing this pattern on a Block of the Month online group. another great pattern by Barb and Alma.I have most of their books and this is one of my favorites. shown in 2 colorways. I am doing the darker.

Fantastic book

I wasn't really a fan of Blackbird Designs until I opened the pages of this book! I can't wait to get started on making some of these quilts - they are just breathtaking!

This is a beautiful book, I thoroughly enjoy just turning the pages and seeing.The additional information about the birds is a nice surprise and bonus.I love the designs and choice of fabrics.I need a change from machine decorated quilts, I now plan to spend a little longer with my quilts, because as we know it is the journey that counts, if not more than the destination.

Love this book.
