Exactly what I needed
Tripplite providing quality power products for a long time. Needed a long, multi-outlet power strip with surge protection to be mounted under an office desk. This is my third one for this type of application and it worked perfectly especially with the included mounting hardware. If I had one caveat is that I didn't need to use about 12' feet of power cable length for my scenario. However, using cable trough under the desk kept the floor clean and uncluttered. An easy recommend to others and would purchase again.

Very Well Made
I have two and I really like their functionality and build quality.

Great product, but support no response from Support and missing parts
We have several power strips like this from Tripp Lite, in 24", 36", 48" lengths. They are great, and mount wonderfully under a desk.5 stars for the product. However, I've gotten two of these over the years with missing mounting hardware, which is what prompted me to write this review.I tried contacting Tripp Lite Support to ask for the missing mounting hardware, and I got no response.0 stars for support.

Awesome strip outlet for indoor entertainment system, but power cord too long
Love this power strip cord, but only gave it 4 stars vs 5 because the 15ft cord of the "right-angle" version is just too long for indoor use. I wish the 15A 6ft version came in the "right-angle" version". I just bought this 2nd one of the 15A "right-angle" 15ft cord to organize the multiple power cords behind our living room entertainment center, which is plugged into an APC battery backup/surge protector. I bought the first one a few months ago to organize the power cords behind our larger 60" LED 3D TV, that also has power cords going to the overhead lights, as well as the internet modem router. Plus the one greatest benefit, main reason I bought it is because the reset button is protected by a cover; our cats kept stepping on the two surge protectors behind this bigger TV, thereby turning off the reset button, and turning off the TV, etc. This totally solved the problem. The Right-Angle Version puts the plugs in the right position so that you don't have to turn the power plugs sideways, which is also solved by the fact that's there's lots of space between each outlet. But as I said, the 15ft cord is just too long for inside use, so it's kept coiled up on top of the APC battery backup out of the way.

Awesome
These get used in data centers. It's why I bought them. I was tired of messing around with cheap ones that would break, burn out, or simply start smoking (yikes!) when put under load. These are expensive, but in this, at least, you get what you pay for.I opted for the 3-foot right-angle strip, which means I can put wall warts in every single outlet in this strip without covering any sockets. I mounted it to the back of my sit/stand desk so I only have a single cord that doesn't move with everything else when I'm adjusting it up or down. The only negative is that the packaging is pretty lame. Amazon shipped this to me loose inside a too-big box with no padding or filler. But because the strip is built like a tank, it survived unscathed. And luckily none of the mounting hardware was emancipated during shipping.Be aware that the version I got, at least, ships with machine screws. If you plan to mount this to anything other than a rack, make sure you have two #8 wood screws and some washers.

Tripp Lite PS3612 Multiple Outlet Strip 15-Amp 12 outlets 15 feet Cord
ASIN B00005115S - Ah, power strip... I love this thing. I find that a bit ridiculous, because it IS, after all, just a power strip. Still, nowadays when everything has to do twelve different things, light up, maybe dance... it's nice when something is simple.First thing to know - it's a power strip, not a surge protector. As it happens, that's all I wanted it to be, so it's fine by me, but if you're expecting more... don't. Also, there is this: if you're not going to have every outlet in use at all times, you might consider getting some of these 30 Fisher Price Shock Guards Child Safety Outlet Covers , especially if you're using the strip in a house with pets that shed OR in a space where dust and debris is common (or, yes, kids...). Believe me, I've had fires start from pet hair getting into the uncovered outlets and am now a huge fan of Cover Your As...um...Outlets.The strip is long and thin and fits nicely along the back of my desktop, where it is easily accessible, without taking up any real, valuable, real estate. The plastic cover over the switch is a nice bit of protection against an accidental bump. Finally, in an old apartment with few outlets, this is a great solution to that problem. My landlord doesn't appreciate the holes in the flooring, I'm sure, but a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do.- AnnaLovesBooks

Excellent. Great for using with UPS battery back-ups.
If you're a 'power user' of computer equipment and always have more devices than outlet receptacles on your battery back-up (even if it's a large UPS), this is the type of power strip that you want to connect to that UPS, NOT a regular power strip.Millions of people probably use regular power strips on UPS battery back-ups and they are risking their equipment by doing so, in the mistaken belief that the surge suppression on the UPS totally protects that equipment. It does, from surges, but you can also damage equipment with uneven and inadequate amps as well, and this is what regular power strips plugged into a UPS will do - send inadequate power to some receptacles on the strip. These Tripp Lite strips send an even amount of power to each receptacle, preventing such damage. This is how I found Tripp Lite strips in the first place: having run out of outlets on the UPS (even though it is a large tower), I wondered about using a regular power strip to expand. NOT recommended, as I found out. These strips are pro-quality all around: heavy-duty metal housing, a 15-amp breaker, heavy-duty 15-foot cord, a lighted on/off switch with clear cover to prevent accidental shut off, plenty of space between the 12 outlets (about 2 1/2 inches), and hardware to mount the strip in almost any configuration. Excellent: have had it for months now and plan to get the 16-outlet model in the near future.

High quality construction
Very nicely made aluminum construction with matte silver finish. I most like that the outlets have a very strong, positive 'grip' when plugs are inserted, which should assure gravity will not work devices loose from the strip. The orientation of the outlets does mean that larger chargers or plug-in power supplies will possibly block the neighbouring outlet, however, it's a tradeoff for the number/density of outlets on this strip compared to those I've seen in stores. It wasn't mentioned in the product description how the strip is wall mounted, etc. I initially assumed it might have holes/slots in the back, into which screw heads fit, common with most smaller power bars. It doesn't. Instead, it ships with two shallow metal clips that screw/bolt to whatever surface you intend to mount the strip, and clip into the shallow slots that runs the length of each side. The clips, two screws, two bolts and two washers are included in one of the end caps of the box, so be sure to open the other end if you don't see them when first opening the box!I was initially skeptical whether the clips would be strong enough to hold the bar off the ground for vertical mounting because the instructions only mention horizontal mounting. I wanted the cord and on/off section positioned near the floor, and at that end of the bar is the circuit breaker reset button. I was concerned the clips would let the bar slide down and end up resting on the button. But, the clips have a very strong grip and I expect will hold the strip firmly in place even with a number of devices in the outlets. Mounting is very easy and with only two clips, perfect alignment is not that critical, compared to mounting power bars with slots in the back, where accurate measurement of screw placement is important. The only aspect about which I'm not so thrilled, for my application, is the cord. It's very long and very thick. But I can appreciate the manufacturer erring on the long side as it would be frustrating to have to add an extension cord if it was too short.

Great, if all you have to plug is standard plugs
The quality of this product is outstanding as always for Tripp-Lite. I am sorely disappointed however that the outlets are oriented the way they are. Wall-warts (transformers) for small devices will *still* overlap the next outlet or two in this strip because of that. If the outlet were oriented 90-deg from where they sit now, this strip would be perfect.

Quality!
Expensive, but worth it. Solid construction and although I was a bit apprehensive about the mounting system (clips on extruded aluminum case), I was impressed that it holds the strip very firmly in place. And the best part of all, the plugs are really good quality and very snug. Would definitely buy again.Update after 4 years: I have had to stop using several of the outlets because there appears to be a manufacturing defect with them that makes it difficult to plug something in without tripping the breaker. Most outlets are fine, but it certainly diminishes the value of this power strip and makes you question the manufacturing quality of the critical parts.

and in this case it's by far the best power outlet money can buy
These are insanely expensive but so far I have five. You definitely get what you pay for, and in this case it's by far the best power outlet money can buy. The inlets as widely spaced so you can fit all those incredibly annoying "power bricks" that seem to come with everything and you can even mount it vertically. I seem to have a huge dearth of outlets compared to my plug-in needs (ten items for a 2-socket wall outlet) so these things come in incredibly handy.

Great!
Exactly what I was looking for. Needed the receptacles to be horizontal And these ones were. Only wish that the cord came out of the end instead of the front.
