Excellent rocket kit at this price level
This is a fairly large rocket for the money, not quite as large as Der Red Max, but almost that big.Normally a rocket this size would use 18mm diameter engines, but this one is intended to fly very, very high. Instead of the 18mm engines, it uses 24 mm diameter C11 and D12 engines. It has streamer recovery instead of a parachute, because high-flying rockets tend to drift a long distance away when using a parachute. (Always cut a big vent hole in all your rocket parachutes, they tend to drift far with an intact parachute.)Building the rocket is easy. Go to the hardware store and get carpenter's glue, some 220 grit sandpaper, some 600 grit sandpaper, rustoleum high-build automotive filler-primer spray paint, and some rustoleum colored spray paint for the final coat.Build the rocket with the carpenter's glue as indicated in the instruction sheet.Hose the rocket down with the high-build auto primer. It will smooth out all the pores in the fins and the seams on the body tube. Two coats, sand a little between coats. Works VERY well.Paint the rocket with 2 coats of whatever colored spray paint you like. Mask off the part of the nose cone that slides into the body tube with scotch tape. The decals are the water-slide-off type. This particular kit had decals that slid on well and were easy to move around into position without sticking down too soon or tearing. It's actually pretty easy to build. If it doesn't come out looking perfect, don't worry about it. Like all flying toys it's eventually going to get lost or beat up anyway. Plus, you'll do better on the next one. There's always... one more.

Awesome rocket
Fairly easy build. Flies like a sport rocket. Nice streamer recovery.

It’s a Goblin
This is a standard rocket in the Estes community! The rocket came well packaged and arrived quickly with no damage. These are great little rockets to build and fly! They are easy to put together. Follow the instructions and use quality wood glue and you really can’t go wrong with this kit!

This rocket is going to SCREAM off the launch pad!
Just received my Goblin kit. I have read the instructions and it seems to be a normal build. A easy skill level 2. A smaller rocket than most of mine are but with a D engine in it, I can’t wait to see it fly! One note; the review above that complained that a C engine won’t fit is completely mis leading. A regular C is too small (18 mm) the C 11’s are 24 mm and absolutely WILL fit this rocket. But why use a C when a D will be so much better?

Good kit arrived in good condition
I will probably kit bash this one down to 18mm engine mount instead of the 24mm mount. Good parts and I like the thicker fins. Nice simple rocket. Looks like an easy build. Careful when cleaning out the plastic on the nose cone eyelet. It requires some patience.

What I expected
Nice model. I just don't like rolling up the streamers. May install small parachute

Loved the waterslide decals
Enjoyed the build. Haven't launched yet but very easy to assemble using my Estes fin alignment tool. Swapped to a burn resistant parachute protector, kevlar shock cord, and nylon parachute
