Im going to weld 2.5mm steel what rods do i need?

not really enough info to go on but if you mean weld mild steel sheet then a general purpose 1.6 mm running at about 40/45 amps should work without blowing right through. depending on skill and experiance you could use bigger rods but its wise to use the lowest current that still strikes and holds an ark.

I wouldn’t even attempt to weld the thin pipe on an exhaust system with an arc welder unless you are welding the pipe to a much thicker material where you are not going to burn through. On such thin material MIG or gas welding is much more controllable.

2mm to 3mm rod should be ok hope this helps.

Not used yet. Arrived quickly. Made in China. Sealed in vacuum sealed bag so a tick for that. Picture shows a box with loads of sticks but actual package much smaller. Description does say 50 in fairness but that’s less than you may think. Looks a good product and I don’t need a huge amount as they do have a shelf life anyway.
