awesome phone, second one of this kind!
I bought this phone used in "good condition" and paid for expedited shipping. The phone arrived five days later, they did not provide the expedited shipping I'd paid for. I docked off one point for this, but I still love the phone. However, the phone that arrived was what I'd expected, although it had Verizon wireless badged all over it (note the description said it was "Unlocked" but meant for gsm providers like AT&T and T-Mobile). Initially I thought I would have to get Verizon service (my old phone was exactly like the ”new-ish" one for good reason, this phone is awesome!). So I brought it, plus my old T-Mobile Motorola Moto X to the Verizon dealer. I found out that Verizon no longer provides services to this old phone (so they said, trying to get me to buy a new phone). However, they took the T-Mobile SIM card out of the old phone and put it in the new one and it worked, by golly! So this phone obviously was originally services by Verizon (CDMA), but was also compatible with T-Mobile (gsm)! This phone is awesome, like I said this is the second go-round with a phone like this one. I bought my original Motorola Moto X brand new. I am a long distance runner, so battery life was important, but so was small size, durability, and water resistance. My old phone survived about a thousand regular drops, one bad drop while running where I essentially punted the phone about 20 feet, then ran for 7 miles in the rain. To be honest it acted super flaky after the rain bath, but recovered. Later on, I left it on the back of my car and hit the interstate, where it fell off. A week later (after I got a new phone that didn't work out), a guy returned my phone after he did the same thing. The funny thing is, minimal damage scarred the phone after 5+years of service and all those drops. Never once did I need to replace the screen! This phone works fantastic as well... It is designed around Google, so the Google assistant works flawlessly. The battery life is awesome too. I can't tell you how many marathons I've run with the phone providing my music and navigation tracking my pace. I take about 4 hours to run one (while bathing the phone in heat and sweat) after which I want to meet up with my party, and it has plenty of battery strength left to make enough phone calls to meet back up in the mass of people at the finish line. In all, this phone is straight up amazing. ****update**** They refunded the $10 expedited shipping charge, so I upgraded to 5 stars. The phone works great, although the one they sent me was a developer edition, which has an unlockable boot loader, which I found out the boot loader had been unlocked, meaning it is likely someone modified the software (it's possible to design entirely customized software and load it onto the phone, you can even change how much transmission power the phone will generate meaning the power generated could damage your body). It appears as though there are no changes to the software that I can tell. I haven't tested the transmit power yet. I plan on measuring the transmit power just to ensure I'm in no danger (I don't think so).

The phone is quite ok. However, the customer ...
The phone is quite ok. However, the customer care at Motorola was not so helpful. Unfortunately my phone display just crashed and I had to call up motorola to get a replacement. Even though they sent me a replacement, the new phone had defects too, causing it to reboot every few hours. I had to again call back motorola and had to go through a lot of explanation and really had to explain the customer agent for about 40 minutes. In the end, all my excitement for this phone died seeing the defective replacement phone and the kind of customer service I received. For once I felt I am speaking to a machine as they were only repeating what they were to say. Even talking to an escalation manager did not help. I have my doubts if I really spoke to a human on the other end. Just waiting for the replacement phone to arrive so I can sell it to some one and move on from Motorola.

Very solid phone, stylish, user-friendly at an affordable price.
I bought it directly from Amazon. It was brand new sealed in box, not any AT&T logo or so, with its original accessories (Motorola branded). Mine was made in the US (they are no longer manufactured in USA). I bought the 1st G unlocked, at $300. I consider it’s not fair to compare it with other phones that cost at least twice. In my opinion it is an excellent phone for its price range. I use it on my local network in Spain and it works fine. I’ve been using it for 3 months now and I haven’t had any problem with performance yet. What I like the most is how nippy it is. As well it’s very intuitive and easy to handle. The screen looks vibrant and sharp and the size of the phone is perfect. Battery life is ok; it gets me through a full day's use with ease. I hope it continues working this way over time! After reading all the Motorola advertising about the magnificent Moto X’s camera, I was expecting something amazing, but I don’t find it impressive; it is just ok. Pretty fast, it’s true, but standard quality. About the voice commands, a lot of people find them very useful, but honestly I have only tried the basic ones, I haven’t taken the time to learn how to use them so I cannot give any review about it. The screen flashes you the time and notifications when you put it out of your pocket or you just move it… without having to press any button. Great when you want to see what time it is while “sleeping”. Some people complains about it lacking a led for notifications or messages, but I find that led annoying, so don’t miss it. I guess the most important drawback is the storage capacity (absence of the SD slot). They give you 50GB of google drive cloud storage for free for two years but... then what? I’ve been reluctant to download any files there. Until now, I survive with the 16GB storage capacity. All in all, very solid phone, stylish, user-friendly at an affordable price. Not a perfect one but... if it were, it wouldn't cost what it does! For this butget, highly recommended.

This is by far the best phone I've owned to date
This is by far the best phone I've owned to date. I've used my moto x for about a year, but I had to step up to a different phone that company provided me with. This phone is a huge successor and if you are still on the budget I would still get it. -Everything worked on that phone. I never received any errors from any apps. -It's very snappy and even after few months of using it, it never slowed down. -It has great AMOLED screen. Some say it's over saturated, but after using it for while it's just so colorful that some LED screens look very dull in comparison. -Very comfortable in hand. Very hard to drop it from hand because of non slip baking. -Great in call quality, good microphones, crisp and loud speakerphone. -Touch less controls -No boot ware -Cheap. -decent battery life Only con I could think of is camera, which is not bad, but could have been a little better.

was purchased for my wife as she lost her own iPhone, she really liked it except the photos that were not as good as ones she used to take with her iPhone. This was not a major problem as she only took photos from time to time, so not a big deal. All other options were matchable with her iPhone 4S so we were glad that we had a good deal. Phone worked OK for two weeks and then started dropping the signal. Our other cell phones were OK at the time so we guessed there is a HW related issue and returned it back. We are just thinking to get a similar one or to have an upgraded model ... will find out in a week!

My phone was defective. It came with physical damage out of the box. It wouldn't connect to LTE networks (even though it says it works on Rogers and has the right bands) And I couldn't transfer information from my old phone using the built in app (also a Moto X).
