Vermont Castings 5004024 Wood Stove Pawl Assembly Replacement

Used to replace a broken handle/pawl in my 1977 Vermont Castings Vigilant wood stove!!! Perfect fit, and works smoothly!!!

needed new one for woodstove. took little tweaking to replace on old stove, but w the handle, it all came together nice & tight. great fix for money.

The handle on my Vermont Castings Resolute wood stove front door broke. I replaced the handle with the new style “Fallaway” handle. I also replaced the front door gasket. But I could not adjust the tightness of the door using the adjustment on my original pawl because 42 years of use had deformed it a bit. I purchased this replacement pawl to enable adjustment of the door. Love my Resolute stove!

I was selling a used Vermont Castings wood stove and realized that this mechanism was frozen. I was able to remove the mechanism but needed to order a new one. This worked perfectly and I was able to sell the stove and make some profit!

My original pawl assembly lost the screw and nut somehow and while my Vigilant door would still lock it was not tight seal. It was cheaper to but whole pawl assembly then pieces I needed. Now my door has nice tight fix again and no more air leaks.

This fit my Vermont castings defiant perfectly. It was easy to install and adjust.
