CamelBak Crux Reservoir Hydration Bladder Cleaning Kit- Reservoir and Tube Brushes, Hanger, and Cleaning Tabs

I have used hydration bladders for at least twenty years, but never thought I’d need special equipment and processes to clean them, that is, until now. This is a high quality kit (made in Austria). I bought this kit to see if I could tame the plasticky taste of my Camelbak milspec bladders. I followed the instructions carefully, adding 1L of warm water, one cleaning tablet, sloshing, remove all air, and wait 30 minutes. So bladder, tube, and valve had cleaning water and no air bubbles. A few more agitations during the 30 minutes, for good measure. Finally drained all the cleaning water, refilled with fresh tap water, and agitated tube and bladder with the brushes. A few more rinses with tap water, and one final rinse with pure drinking water, then hung up to dry. My first use of the Camelbak bladder after cleaning was a success. From now on, cleaning the hydration packs is a tradition.

Functional and well worth using on a regular basis

I waited too long to get this. Everything is now clean and I'm so relieved!

Pros: The brushes work well for cleaning both the reservoir and the tubes. I was ultimately able to clean out everything from all my hydration packs even some old ones that had been put away wet and were pretty nasty before the cleaning. Cons: The tube brush is not long enough to push all the way though the tubes on some models which can leave you going back and forth trying to dislodge and rinse stuff out of the middle off the tube if you had some gunk build up. The hanger doesn't seem to work with my older camelbak that was similar to the listed model, I had been hoping it was less model specific.

These simple tools make it so easy to clean and dry these reservoirs. If you have a Camel Bak and down have this kit, GET IT. GET IT NOW!

This came as described and seems well made, however, I do not have a CamelBak so the hanging part does not work for my bladder. Make sure you only purchase if you have a CamelBak.

This is a must, I was back and forth to spend money on a cleaning kit but after a while and noticing my hose wasn’t getting as clean as I hoped and cleaning the inside of the pack, the pack still felt dirty. After I got this and used it first time what a difference. And the tablets I think make a big difference as well. I recommend this for anyone who has a pak!

I've had a now-older CamelBak for a solid several years. Never really gave it a full scale cleaning until now. If you don't have one of these kits for your hydration bladder, regardless of brand? GET ONE. I got a distressing amount of gunk out of mine, and the water coming out of it now tastes great. Bonus points that you can prop it open and dry it out for storage and between uses, reducing how frequently you need to clean it in the first place.
