Worth the money if you like the album
Plays just fine and it came in perfect condition but I had only listened to the title track before I bought it. Probably should’ve given it a listen before I spent my money on it and realized I don’t like the album that much lmao. Still gonna keep it because there’s a few songs I like but probably won’t listen back to front anytime soon.

This is N.E.R.D.’s best work
The media could not be loaded. Every song on this CD is song’s that you could listen over and over again. Great CD!

a classic album, forreal cause I tell the truth
One reason, I like this album is because Pharrell is a straight pimp and knows how to appeal to all flavors. I got "In Search Of" after I saw them live at the Sprite Liquid Remix Tour and was hooked ever since. The CD I have has live instrumentals by Spymob, which I think is better than the original version. Lapdance and Rockstar are both great singles because they both show how the Neptunes alter-ego can throw down some dope riffs. Two songs I think are pimp as hell to listen to on the way to the clubs are Things Are Getting Better and Tape You. Run to the Sun and Am I High are awesome songs to sing along by yourself but not with friends (Due to imitating Pharell's high pitch). Provider shows Pharell's vocal range, which is not necessarily a good or bad thing. One good thing is that every track on this CD is worth listening and the hooks that Hugo throws at you keep you wanting more. The reason it only gets four stars is because some tracks seem out of place like Provider.

So passionate it bleeds . . .
This album is so passionate it's unsettling at times. There are moments that gave me goosebumps. These songs just had to come out, you can feel it. I liked the beats, the smooth melodic hooks, and the jazzy changes; the album sounds very sophisticated. This album has fantastic vocals and keyboard playing. This is more of an R&B album even though N.E.R.D. (aka the Neptunes) are best known as hip-hop producers. My favorites are:1) Lapdance . . . wow, it's so intense it scares me!2) Things Are Getting Better . . . a beautiful song with a great groove.3) Provider . . . very haunting, gorgeous chords in the minor mode and I liked the bluesy vocals.4) Tape You . . . a fun, kinda creepy erotic song. I love the hook here.5) Am I High . . . very smooth and pretty!! I loved the piano on this track.6) Bobby James, very smooth and haunting, once again.7) Stay Together. This is one of the most plaintive pop/R&B love songs I've ever heard. Awesome!I'm having a hard time articulating exactly what it is that I like about this album; it has vibe that's very unique, it gets under your skin. No other album sounds quite like it. It's one of those rare records where it sounds like the musicians have found the exact sounds they need to express themselves. And I think that's what makes it kind of unsettling. It's just so intimate and expressive, it puts me in the songwriter's exact mindset so that I feel everything very deeply . . .

Arguably NERDs finest productions are all contained here....
Having become one of the most prolific producers/Remixers in the business...the production team known as "The Neptunes", (consisting of two members 'Chad Hugo' & 'Pharrell Williams') have lent their considerable skills constructing / Producing tracks for artists such as : "Justin Timberlake/Jay-Z/Old Dirty Bastard/Nelly/Britney Spears & LL Cool J". But it was "Zero 7's" astonishing remix of their Album track "Provider", that prompted me to Revisit their Debut album. And seeing as N.E.R.D are considered among the best (if not the best),in the Hip-Hop Producer/Composer stakes, this doesn't disappoint. And rather than just settle for their market leading blend of stuttering beats, and reverberating bass-lines, which would have ensured rave reviews across the board, they take the risky step of cross-breeding with the Rock genre to unparalleled success. From 'Lapdance's' funk/Hip-hop, to 'Provider's' slinky R&B /Hip-Hop beats, to the full on Rock/Hip-hop Hybrid that is "Rockstar" (a sneering look at so called 'Poser's'), and it's hard to find complaint with this album, because it stays close enough to its Hip-Hop Roots to pander to the Hip-Hop markets (especially those with a fancy, for Anthemic beats), and inventive enough to bring elements of 'Rock' to the table, without it sounding forced (and possibly enticing a few Rock fans, that have liked Hip-hop but never felt sure enough to buy a Hip-hop album), truly the best of both worlds then.

Better than current U.S version
What can one say about super producers the Neptunes that already hasn't been said. They are nearly untouchable when it comes to beats, thats why everyone wants them.I would first like to mention that if your a neptunes fan then the import album is for you. The beats are awesome and it's a complete hip hop album that people will enjoy. The U.S. version is different not in a good or bad way. It just sounds like to different groups. With the U.S album, they sound like a group with a fresh new sound that combines rock riffs with hip-hop lyrics and make it work. They sould like artists to watch out for. Either way both albums are awesome and a must have.If your looking for something fresh and different pick up the U.S. version. But if your into the Neptunes sound, spend a little extra and buy the import. You won't be dissapointed.
