Well made, lightweight, excellent.
The Osprey Exos 58 is half the weight of my aging 65l pack. I’m no ultralight backpacker but I take weight serious as I’m pushing 50. I’ve used this pack for 2 in and out overnights with an early spring load out (~25lbs). While I don’t have the load balanced exactly the way I like it yet, the pack is comfortable and the venting behind my back is amazing.Feature rundown:-Side pockets: Cook kit in one and water bottle angled in the other.-Outside mesh pocket: Rain gear and rain fly fit with room for more.-Limited front accessible storage: Knew this going in. I bought a Fanny pack to keep snacks and my phone in. I do wish it had hip belt pockets but it’s an acceptable trade off. I’ll be adding a phone pocket to the shoulder strap once I figure out how.I’d recommend this pack. I found no visible flaws in stitching/construction/materials and it’s doing the job well.

A most satisfied backpack
This is the backpack that I will use for most hiking. I take away its top so that the weight can be reduced to 1.1KG (I order a Large size). For a hiker or a seasoned traveller, a large backpack is very important which you do not need to worry how to pack some many things into it. Do not look for any backpack under 60L, which only make you waste time to try to squeeze items into backpack and waste your effort. Shall order a backpack with 60L above, so that you can quickly pack your essential items into it with minimum effort. Secondly, Exos is designed for seasonable hiker or traveler as it is very light while expandable, and comes with very useful features. Exos beings the most important features to me, which is large storage, minimum weight, durable material, so many functions, ease of assessment, and beauty. Yes, I mean Beauty, which Exos looks super cool, elegant, and nice. Oh, this is the most satisfied backpack that I have used.

Just Great!
This is a famous pack among long-distance hikers. Some dislike the recent simplification of the hip belt, some (like me) don't care about not having pockets on the belt. This pack is remarkably comfortable for under 3lb. Even loaded a little beyond the recommended weight, it is extremely comfortable. I did not take it for a multi-day hike, so I can't say whether the thin hip belt will start to matter after days on the trail, but it was surprisingly more comfortable for me over shorter distances than other packs with more cushy hip belts.I had to return it for other reasons, and Enwild made the return easy. I will buy gear from them again!

PCT Approved
Hiked over 1,000 miles of the Pct with this pack and it held up great. It’s a popular pack on trail because it’s lightweight and people like the breath ability on your back. I tried at least 5 packs along the journey and this was the one for me. Don’t worry about no hip pockets, you can just toss stuff in the side pockets with your water bottles or whatever, they are deep and hold your snacks and small well. If I could change one thing I would make it a roll top for when your load gets lighter. And be careful pulling on the compression straps, I broke two and had to return a bag to REI. Over and out

comfortable, lightweight, but too much fluff
I am 6'4" and have the size large and it is long enough. The advertised volume seems to include the mesh pockets because it is not a huge pack. I use it as a day pack for back-country skiing where I bring a foam pad, bivi, and down parka. If you break a leg wallowing in five feet of snow, you need a pad and bivi or you will be a Popsicle in an hour. That gear plus the usual balaclava, spare mittens, navigational and ski gear, and snack and water fills the pack. The straps are not made for skis but work, not great, for approaches. The pack has a several fluff items like a trekking pole hanger (who cares?) and a bladder pocket. I use canteens. It is well constructed however, the frame bows inwards so far that it uses up much of the interior space of the pack. It is fabulously comfortable. It makes a wonderful summer ultralight pack except for the pathetically small lid pocket. The lid pocket is another fluff item. It is removable (Why?) and it is minuscule and has a stupid little mesh pocket on the underside of the lid that to be useful would not be mesh or would be inside the lid. The lid pocket never stays put, sliding down towards the back of the pack, annoying but not a deal killer.

no more pockets on the belt and straps
Excellent lightweight backpack. This is new version. Compared to old one, changes I noticed include:- changed net on the frame, it now has larger cells - this is good- removed are pockets on the belt - this is very bad- mesh on back pockets seems to be stronger - this is good, old was too fragile- removed pockets from backpack straps - this is bad

Great price for quality
Bought this for my brother for Christmas. He absolutely loved it. The quality he said felt like some more expensive ones he had his eye on. Game changer for backpacking and hiking. Evenly distributed weight and holds a good amount of items.

Used it on the AT
Alright I thru hiked the AT in 2019 and I bought this pack in hot springs for like $180 to replace my old one. Heading NOBO at probably ~250 miles left the back mesh wore thin and ripped! Once the mesh starts to tear it won’t stop so I had killer back pain from the loss of support. I ended up sticking my foam sit pad on my back to help with the pain but it only slightly helped. I decided to suck it up and just finish the AT with this pack. Once I finished and got home I contacted osprey and they just gave me a new pack because mine was so jacked up. I did see like 4 other people with the same pack who had the same issue as me so I’m not the only one who has had this issue. It’s definitely not the worst pack for long hikes. I’m going to use the replacement they sent me to hike the Via Francigena this year so I hope it holds up but if it doesn’t I’m never going to use it again.

Original

This lives up to it's advertising
I'm 65 years old and I took my oldest grandson on his first backpack camping trip so I had to bring a lot more stuff than I would normally carry. Osprey says this pack has "incredible load transfer" and they are correct! I was able to easily adjust the 42# pack while on the trail and hiking to move weight from shoulders to hips and back again as needed to keep going. (And it was needed!!) This pack is very light, very strong, has lots of tie-downs in all the right places. The padding on the shoulder straps spreads the weight very well and the mesh back ventilates very well. I love the pocket that lets you slip a water bottle in and out of the side pockets while walking! I am 100% satisfied with this excellent pack.
