Nice
I have some blanket type shawls that a stick type shawl pin won't work for and I also use them for other uses. I am always misplacing the ones I got at Wal-Mart and only had two of them. I am pleased to always have one now. I also use them for the dust cover (old sheet) for my weaving loom. I imagine they would work just as well to pin a cover over a chair or sofa as well. Nice and study. I used one as a girl for my kilt. My stepdad was Scotch/English. I have a large penannular style blanket pin for heavy duty work, but these are fine and better for lighter duty needs. I like the fact they come 12 to a pack. Best deal on the web for them. I half expected for the price that they would be flimsy. They are the standard gauge and size. Same price as I paid elsewhere for only two and the only difference is those were gold painted and these are not. Actually the sliver metal color works better for more uses and no flaking paint as they age.

Total waste. Good idea
These pins are not sharp at all. They won't go through the layers I need them to. Total waste. Good idea, but they fell through on function.

HUGE!
Quality & strength is as I hoped, but these things are HUGE, so make sure you really need 'em this big! Can fast. Hold tight. Strong. Think BIG and enjoy!

Keeps My Blankets Beautifully Neat
The positive: visible enough to wear as a safe-place statement, cute enough to hang some charms on, strong enough to hold 2 blankets together during manic blanket digging by two small dogs, and better than any standard or boxed safety pin you can buy these days. If you need to pin something safely and securely, these rugged pins will do the trick. Cons: being a big pin, the end is thicker than on typical skinny pins, so you need a little thumb-power to push it through thick fabrics. Can't think of any other cons. They're cool! They do the job! I will find other uses for the leftovers for sure!

Sturdy and perfect for the job
These blanket pins are perfect for the job for which I purchased them, holding my bed's blanket to the sheet beneath it at the bottom end of the bed. Straightening the sheet, the blanket, and then the quilt while making the bed each morning takes time, esp since the blanket's size is much less generous than the sheet under it. The pins are heavy and I had to work a bit to pierce the tightly woven sheet, which I hope I don't regret. If fraying occurs in time a product like Fray Check or FrayBlock will remedy that but I'm not expecting problems since the sheets are new. I wouldn't use them on threadbare sheets.

Better than large safety pins but not hard to handle these blanket pins. Was a little dismayed that it is a China product.
Excellent pin,,as heavy duty as I want. Nearly twice the size, thickness and strength of a regular big size safety pin. I will use these. Hubby will use these....busting snaps from blue jeans and needs pins to hold them together. Regular large safety pins too weak,,would break on that chore...but these pins won't. I also will use to pin together several old blankets folded together but needed ability to wash separately by just unpinning and these will do that very well.

No point
They open too easily- the flex/tensile strength from the metal composition isn't sufficient. They are also very dull- far more than the image shows. So you wouldn't use them on a horse blanket, for sure, and I'm careful to keep the point out and only use them on non-vital stuff. As something basic and lightweight, they're great.

Not sharp at all. Not sharp, thin gauge ...
Not sharp at all. Not sharp, thin gauge metal. Should have kept shopping. Bought them to pin two cheap old comforters together and stick them in a duvet. Really difficult to get the pins through the cheap old comforters.

the tips are dull making it hard to pierce through blankets

After reading the reviews of this product I ordered them, thinking they were 5" pins (as someone posted in a review). I guess that info is not posted anywhere on the product page. They are 2" pins and useless to me. Waste of time and money.
