I chose this particular Milk Thistle based on it's strength, high standards and it's glowing reviews. I went through seven months of chemo that ended last summer and 7 weeks of radiation that ended in Nov of '18. I was not yet fully through the changes of menopause, yet I absolutely could not tolerate the tamoxifen prescribed for what was to be at least 2-3 years. After many conversations with my Docs, other professionals, my husband, friends & family, I decided to research how to try to control the Estrogen (Estrodial in particular) w/in my blood. I began using DIM and Milk Thistle in addition to Olive Leaf supplements, Mega-Spectrum Enzymes and good Probiotics. I also take my B-vitas as well as a D-3/K2 supplement (esp thru the NE winters:) to help battle depression. We joined a fantastic CSA early this spring, and I've been eating mindfully & healthfully. I feel amazing!! The hormonal rants & episodes of night (and daytime) hot flashes & sweats have reduced considerably. I feel better than I have in many years, as I have also been suffering for the past decade from the sudden onset and deep hold of a rare, disabling disorder called Stiff Persons' Syndrome (fewer than 1 in 1 million afflicted). I have been through hell in ways I could not have previously imagined ~and I feel I have been given a second chance!!I will continue to reorder from this company so long as they maintain their standards and recipe.Thank you for taking the time to read this. Should you decide to try this milk thistle, please remember that herbal remedies require a commitment to being taking regularly~ meaning daily for at least 6-8 weeks, to ensure it has time & consist levels w/in the body, I feel confident that you will feel a difference in your energy levels & your outlook, while your overall health will feel markedly improved! :) If not, I suggest that you speak with your doc about potential vitamin &/or mineral deficiency testing 7/or B-12 shots. While I cannot comment on this product in isolation, I can state that I've used it with two other products to help my 79 year old father with edema (swollen feet) after long covid. Anecdotal though this review may be I hope it can help others by giving a bit of incite if they suffer from the same.Father was taking diuretic to help with the swelling and that stopped working after a couple months. Prior , he would wake up with normal size feet and then they would balloon up during course of the day. when the diuretic stopped working he would now wake with balloons for feet. I dug and found that tudca along with milk thistle and annato-e were recommended to help the liver repair it's self. I put him on these three with a double dose of the annato-e and within two days I saw a slight reduction. I kept it up and within two weeks further reduction and within one month of this regiment his feet was normal upon waking each day and would only slightly swell through the day. of course he has to elevate his feet also just as the doc recommended. This is what I've used this product for I found that these three are great together with the annato-e being the most potent of the three as without it the feet do tend to swell more. look into the benefits of milk thistle it's a good product which is why I keep giving father all three. This works very well for me. The first night that I took it, I felt a crackling in my sinuses from candida being broken up or something. It was a weird sensation. So I noticed that for the most part it keeps candida under check, It helps keep my blood sugar normal. It has stopped the pain I was having in my liver. It has reduced my acid reflux. I only have to take a Nexium about once every other week now. I take this twice a day most of the time. I tried taking a few days break, and symptoms came back. I began to feel unwell again. I know I will need to do more for my digestive and liver health, but for now this helps keep things under control. A lot of times, taking this heads off headaches too. I just started my son on these to see if his chronic headaches will lessen at all. Oh, forewarning for anyone who hasn't taken Milk Thistle yet, this has a strong sedative affect for a while, until your body gets used to taking it. So best to start out taking it before bed.
