I Love It - Use It Correctly
Yes, I know this is the caviar that we're taught to hate because it's salty and fishy, but when used properly it's a wonderful product. I love mixing it with sour cream and enjoying it on a toasted English muffin with smoked salmon and a little lemon - yum! Or try mixing it with sour cream and then topping a baked potato with it, with a nice dollop of butter and you'll be in heaven. Or mix some into a creamy butter sauce with some spaghetti, it's great. Lots of umami, and much better than it's reputation would have you believe.

A good alternative to the real thing.
I've purchased this a number of times and have not been disappointed. I can't say what sturgeon caviar tastes like, but for a less pricey alternative this suits me. A little salty. I try it on unsalted crackers atop a dollop of sour cream. I will be purchasing more.

Product has changed for the worse
I will NEVER buy Romanoff Caviar Black Lumpfish again. The pearls aren't black, they're green. There's a watery bottom in the jar - green, of course. And while this was always salty it now is unpleasantly, overly, salty. And I am a person who likes salt! This used to be a good, cheap caviar product - the pearls were black, there was no watery bottom and the saltiness was acceptable. The product has changed and very much for the worse. Buyer beware.

Great for the price, but know what to expect and treat it right.
It's my first time with caviar and I'm sure for the price it's not exactly the best ofc, lol but for the money I'd say it's tasty. It tastes like a more mild and smooth flavor of anchovies almost so if you've had those then you know what to expect. I had it on whole wheat Ritz Crackers with dried chives, dill, slices red radish, and half of the crackers with cream cheese and the other with sour cream as the creme fresh or whatever it's called wasn't at my Walmart. Hard to say which was best but I'd lean towards the cream cheese. It was definitely a good snack that was surprisingly satisfying and were I to have a nice cool beer I bet it would've tasted even better with the beer washing away the salty flavor that lingers for a minute or two. Definitely would buy again.

Poor Man's Access to a Rich Man's Delicacy
Although the price has increased over the years, these make are part of my family's Christmas brunch tradition: slice some baguettes and toast them. Top bread with cream cheese and sliced boiled eggs. Then, add finely chopped onions, black olives. Add a dollop of sour cream, then a dollop of caviar on top. Absolutely heavenly. We do this once a year at Christas, served with mimosas! We serve one jar for each person who wants to indulge!

Seems overly salty
We used to buy the 8 oz. jars of Roland but they are difficult to find. This is okay. It benefits from a careful rinse to decrease the extreme saltiness.
