Excellent product. A tiny amount goes a long way, erasing the scuffs and minor colour loss that time and use bring. Didn’t darken the leather or feel tacky or greasy after drying., and no artificial shiny silicone finish. Cleaned the leather well without lifting the colour off the surface. The down side: this is a small bottle for the price. The bottle wasn’t full to the top, either. It was sealed in plastic overwrap, so I’m certain that it wasn’t used and it didn’t leak along the way, it was properly filled to weight, but not volume. But for me the smell was the biggest problem - a cloyingly sweet artificial lilac scent laced with a chemical undertone that actually made me nauseous after treating a few items with the product. For that reason, I’m not sure that I’ll buy this again, but based on the excellent results, I would still recommend the product to others.

Sophie beaute du cuir creme universelle is so far the best leather conditioner/cleaner I have used. You only need a small amount and the leather is hydrated and so smooth again. I love it for all my leather bags and small leather goods.

I took the advice of the Elegant Oxford channel on YouTube to use this as a mild, versatile conditioner for dress shoes and boots. Mr. Soto will use a colored Saphir shoe cream or a leather dye if needed, then give shoes a treatment of this Saphir Universal, and finish dress shoes with a light layer of neutral or tinted wax, and add many thin layers to the toe and heel of the shoe with ice water and a touch of rubbing alcohol to make an amazing mirror finish. The Saphir Universal doesn't have the same cleaning agents and slightly heavier oils and waxes of the Saphir Renovateur conditioner. I try to use products that are mostly composed of plant oils and bees waxes rather than synthetic or mostly other animal oils like mink or lanolin, and almost never petroleum based products. The scent of this is nice, I guess. It kind of reminds me of a clothing store in Paris from the '80s, which is not really my thing but better than a petroleum smell of other products. It *barely* darkened the leather, so I'm not sure how it compares to the alternative water-based and synthetic Venetian conditioner, which I have on order since it's what Grant Stone brand recommends. It has a slightly tacky feel at first, which goes away completely after a few minutes and some buffing/brushing. The conditioner is very liquidy, but you just need to be careful dabbing it from the bottle onto your applicator or to the shoe, and start on smooth pieces of leather to thin it out before spreading it over any holes or brogueing. This product 100% met my expectations and while not cheap, it was reasonable at $15 for the bottle and should last a decent amount of time.

Saphir is something of an institution when it comes to fine leather goods. The creme universelle is one of their most versatile products; the clue is in the name. I use it on car seats, leather furniture, including cordovan shoes. It does a great job of lightly cleaning and moisturising all types of leather. I have used it for years without issue. For instance, apply it to shoes before using shoe creams to recondition dry or soften new leather. Creme universelle dries to a soft slightly waxing finish that isn’t tacky. Very effective and one litre goes a very long way.

Saphir im Allgemeinen ist so ziemlich das Beste zum Thema Lederpflege. Die Produkte sind teuer aber sehr effektiv & schon in kleinen Mengen hochwirksam - das relativiert den Preis. Hier geht‘s um die Creme Universelle, das ist für mich sozusagen die Grundlage der Lederpflege. Ob es (auch brandneue) Schuhe sind oder Lederkleidung, Ledertaschen, die Ledersitze im Auto, Ledermöbel oder kleine Dinge wie Lederhandschuhe oder lederne Uhrarmbänder. Es hält das Leder geschmeidig, wasserabweisend & bringt auspoliert schon etwas Glanz. Für alles außer Schuhe reicht mir diese Creme Universelle zur Lederpflege. Bei Schuhen benutze ich zusätzlich min. noch passend pigmentierte Schuhcreme & Wachs für höheren Glanz & evtl. noch das spezielle Spiegelglanzwachs an den Schuhkappen. Abgesehen von meiner Wertschätzung für Saphir Produkte war auch die Lieferung schnell & pünktlich & ausreichend sicher verpackt. Volle Empfehlung meinerseits.

I work at Chanel and we use this on some of the handbags that’s why I decided to order some from here. Use it on plain black or brown leather but please don’t use it on any coloured leather excessively as it can transfer a colour or make the colour run
