Dax Wave and Groom Hair Dress, 3.5 Ounce (Pack of 3) by DAX

An all-time classic. Strong, reshape-able and shiny hold. Waterproof to tsunamic (sic) proportions. Keeps hair moisturised negating the need for a conditioner. Makes me feel like a 60s American movie star and the tin, a sturdy metal vintage offering in a shade of red reminiscent of better times is, I suspect, designed to withstand an elephant sitting on it and I’ve got a few that have been reused for decades and still look brand new. I give it 5 stars not only for the aforementioned but also due to the fact it is a lot more affordable (less than a fiver each unit 99g) than most of the other, less classy offerings currently being sold by larger more ‘fashionable’ brands that are nowhere near as good.

If you’re not familiar with Dax it can take a bit of getting used to compared to just about anything else... upshot is it’s quite possibly the best hair product there is! Having used it for 20 odd years, see below for the pros & cons; + great for beach holidays, swimming or water sports; get out, and reset your style- no more fluffiness or dubious hats hiding dodgy do’s! +Strong, like Arnie level strong: if you want to defy gravity then this is for you, have has some 6inch plus straight up styles with this and it just stays that way +Great for morning after- so you wake up in a strange bed and want to make yourself look respectable, splash of water and you can restyle without raiding someone’s bathroom for a decades old can our mousse (it happens, trust me!) + a little goes a long way, rub a thumbnail sized piece between your hands and you’ll be amazed how much of your hair it’ll style + Doesn’t go fluffy or leave dodgy looking white residue Cons - Difficult to wash off hands, top tip use washing up liquid. Tend to find it washes out of hair fine with just normal shampoo

Really nice hair wax and great value multi pack. When applied to towel dried hair it provides great definition and can be styled with fingers or comb. The more you put on the greater the control, although if you use a whole "pea full" as per instructions you will have a job restyling. I find a little goes a long way and is much easier to wash out. Great product!

I’ve tried probably loads of gels, waxes and the like and this is hands down the best I’ve ever used. It lasts an incredibly long time (months for short hair) and holds through all weathers, sport sweat and can even be restyled first thing in the morning (from yesterday’s application!) with a little water. It takes a bit to learn to use it right, small amounts rub well in the hands before applying etc but for short to medium hair they’re is no better. Happy to pay £3-£5 a tub cus a 2 pack is 6 months worth!

My husband has been using this product pretty much since the wheel was invented. He loves the stuff and gets major withdrawal grumps when he runs out (often not in stock where we live) but amazon saved the day as I was back in the UK recently and ordered Dax's arrival to coincide with my brief trip and I have one happy husband. Personally I don't like the stuff in his hair as it is sticky and makes it a yucky texture, but I've learnt that life is happier with a sticky haired husband than a grumpy one who has soft hair, and at his age he's probably lucky to still have a full head of hair anyway :-)

i have been using Dax wax for over 15 years and would never change product to anything else. If you have short/medium hair this product is for you!
