Could someone tell me the length size?

The small one is 2 3/8" long, the large one is 3 1/4" long

How do you read/use these, does d1/8 s10-5/16 means use 1/8 drill bit in s10-5/16 sized bolt? would this work for a broken m6 bolt?

Yes, drill means the size of drill bit recommended for that size bolt. For a 6 mm it should work. Use a drill that will leave enough of the bolt to wedge the extractor in to it. Use a center punch to center the broken bolt to be drilled, drill down enough to gain as much surface as you can. Hope this helps, good luck. If you can heat the area that will help too.

I've never used a screw extrator. How do they work?

Depending on fastener size, you may also be able to use a socket (SAE or metric) with a breaker bar to remove it. I would suggest using a breaker bar (non-ratcheting), as you won't mess up the ratcheting mechanism if you really have to lean on it. Another suggestion is to use the next size up on your breaker bar (i.e., use a 1/2"-drive breaker bar instead of a 3/8'-drive breaker bar). That way, you have more length and muscle to remove a stuck fastener, and no chance of damaging a ratcheting mechanism. At a minimum, use the breaker bar to LOOSEN a stuck fastener first, THEN proceed with the ratchet to speed removal. Finally, if you're having trouble removing a fastener, even with the breaker bar, check to see if epoxy was used to hold it together (or to discourage removal). If it's epoxied, apply a few drops of a solvent (like nail polish) to make the job easier. If you are able to use heat, avoid using solvents, which may start a fire.
