First question everybody has about these things... "Are they noisy?" The technical response for this one is: "Yes. It is noisy." The practical response is: Noise is relative. Compared to other options for gas powered portable generators, this model is relatively quiet. It's louder than an average 18-wheeler truck exhaust and quieter than almost any gas-powered push mower. It's sound is adequately muffled that even if it would register high in decibels, it does not have a grating sound to it, which makes it conceivably comfortable as background noise, even if you were only standing 10 feet from it. Quite frankly, when I had it outside running out a tank of fuel as a break-in run, I was in the house and hardly heard it running. I almost forgot it was even out there running because I had to turn down the TV to listen for it. As for size, it's about as big as a moderately filled hiking backpack. Its weight is a bit hefty for the size, but the handle is in a well-balanced place and was easy for me to carry it around, walking 50 to 100 feet in the process. I just wouldn't recommend using it as a free-weight while jogging! Setup was easy. I opened the box, removed the top part of the packaging, which contained the oil and accessories, and was able to pull the generator out of its box with ease. From there, I followed the setup guide in the instruction manual to open the side cover. After loosening two screws, you have to "pop" the cover off as it had plastic pins that hold it in place. From there, you can easily access the oil fill hole. Unscrew the oil fill dipstick, then screw in the convenient oil-fill funnel that's included in the accessories. This made it easy to pour in the oil. Then pour in the contents of the included motor oil. The container of oil contains exactly enough oil to fill the oil reservoir. I tested the level with the oil dipstick. One piece of advice, keep that little bottle. You can refill it to the bottle's full line with conventional motor oil for a convenient, premeasured amount to add later when you do its recommended oil changes. As for its usefulness, I didn't test it under any scientific means. The picture I attached to this review shows it powering my workshop. The picture skews the size of the generator. It looks big against the workshop, but the angle of the shot and angle of the camera lens makes it look bigger than it is. The workshop is 18' wide from that view and is about 25-30 feet from the generator. I had all lights on in the workshop. Two LED workbench lights and two LED ceiling lights. I also turned on a desktop computer I had in there, an old CRT video monitor, and two pieces of specialized electronics test equipment. If you're curious, the test equipment was an old logic analyzer from the 1980s with a CRT screen in it, and a two-way radio service monitor from the 1980s. Both test equipment devices consume about 250 watts each. In all, I may have had about 750-800 watts of devices running and the generator just hummed right along. I wasn't going to overexert it during its break-in period, but I was satisfied it would handle my needs. I do not have any personal research on how long it will run under various loads. I don't expect a generator this small to run overnight. If you use this for convenience, like I will tend to do when I sell electronics at flea markets and want to let people test them, then this is perfect for me. If I need to power my refrigerator and freezer if the power goes out for an extended period of time, then I expect to be refilling its tank more often. But at least I would be able to keep the fridge and freezer running. This is a generator for emergency or convenience only. It's not intended to be a whole home backup generator.

Generator is well designed. Was considering a Honda, but figured I could buy three of these for one of those. It's quiet enough to not aggravate the neighbors. On eco-mode the motor throttles at a lower RPM until a greater load puts demand on the generator's motor. Nice feature! This will replace my standard generator that is constantly down no matter how I store it. Seems reliable so far. Starts on first pull if used recently. If it doesn't, I use the choke and it usually starts right up. Runs really smooth and nice. I would buy again. Great to have during power outage!

Just went through a near week long power outage due to the weather (and atrocious planning from the power company). Bought this because it claimed to be quiet. Single pull start. Compared to all other generators, it’s quiet (65-75dB). Supported all our necessities for that time period including supplying power to a large fridge/freezer, window A/C unit and allowing my fish tank to continue operating uninterrupted. Easy to carry around due to its small size and weight. Can’t praise this little unit enough for helping us get through that experience. Don’t forget to read the manual before using. Eco mode definitely works for saving gasoline.

These inverters are quiet and affordable. They start on the first pull and sip fuel. What I don't like about it is the power output can't be accurate. I have a 13.5k BTU A/C with a soft start installed. A different little inverter generator was able to run it. This one couldn't. Since they're not returnable I ordered a 2nd one and parallel them. They both run my complete camper and still pretty quiet. I bet it would easily run a small window A/C. The seller shipped this quickly and I received it a day early. Very happy with that.

5 years old and fired up and runs like a champ! Running my sump pump an upright freezer and my refrigerator! Best money spent! Noise level at 25 feet you can carry on a normal conversation

Apres une période de deux mois d'utilisation pour le camping,cette génératrice fonctionne a merveille et fournis l'électricité au dela de nos attentes.Le niveau de bruit est tres bas et la consommation d'essence est vraiment faible.Parfois le démarrage néccéssite plusieurs essaies apres une longue période d'inutilisation,je suggere d'utiliser de l'essence sans éthanol pour diminuer cet inconvénient.

The generator is good value, starts easily and runs smoothly. It's design makes filling or checking oil a bit awkward, requiring the removal of several screws and plastic side cover. Instructions for installation of an exhaust extension kit would be nice for installation aboard a boat.
