Easy to manage; eco-friendly; light-weight; great results
I purchased this coco fiber as an eco-friendly alternative to peat moss and traditional potting soil for hydrangeas. It was very simple to process. There are instructions for hydration on the packaging, but I was working on multiple projects in my yard and had ample time, so I simply placed it in my gardening wagon and periodically doused it with the hose. After the water was absorbed, I brushed off the hydrated portion of coco fiber and re-sprayed the block. This process only took about 15 minutes, producing a lovely, fluffy material perfect for container-grown plants. One block - amended with almost an equal quantity of perlite and some nutrients - yielded sufficient potting medium to fill two 21" diameter containers. The hydrangeas flourished in the mix throughout the summer. The coir fiber seemed to retain moisture longer than most other potting mixtures, which meant I didn't have to water them as frequently. In fact, I checked the containers after 2 months in the garage and the potting medium was still quite moist. Moreover, the combination of the long-fiber coir and the perlite provided finicky hydrangea roots with the proper balance between moisture and air. Unlike traditional potting soil and potting mix, the coco fiber mix didn't become soggy or compacted, which made it super easy to work with. Just as advertised, the product was of good quality with no dust or seeds. The coco fiber potting mix was super light-weight, too, so moving the containers into the garage for the winter was a task I could accomplish without help.

I strongly recommend this product for anyone that enjoys being surrounded by green!
I never thought about using anything other dirt in my house plants before. After a gnat problem that destroyed a 1/4 of my plants. My biggest heartache was that My 2 Umbrella trees are over 15 years old and were on the verge of death. I started looking for a way to be certain I never this doesn't happen again.I found Cocogro by accident while looking for a product to dry out my soil after the beneficial nematode treatment. When I read that plants will always get a good air to feed ratio in it, I decided to give it a try. It is amazing! My plants are now growing very fast. Soon, I will have enough cuttings to propagate my full compliment of plants. The only drawback (and not much of one at that) is the plants need to get fertilizer with each watering. My home is back to being the interior jungle is used to be with all plants healthier that they've been in years. This is working so well that I bought a couple of more bales to add into my veggie garden this spring. One tip: Make sure to start hydrating this a day ahead of time. It hydrates very easily, but it takes a while for the moisture to soak into the pressed material. I broke mine up into fist size of smaller chunks when hydrating a 2nd bale and stirred until the coco was evenly moist and let it sit about 12 hours. All the remaining chunks had fully dissolved.

Very similar to the GH. Good stuff.
Very similar to the GH. Seems like the good stuff at reasonable prices gets snapped up, price goes up, then the next one fills it's place, next thing you know it's gone too. This has gone up in the past couple of weeks. Good coco, but has a runoff ion the 580-620ppm (700 scale) until soaked and rinsed once, then it drops to 220 or so. Used in a peat/coco/soil mix, plants like it, I use Jacks Peat Light mixed to 600ppm (700 scale) in home made self watering 6 gallon totes. All plants seem to love this combo, including Reapers and Ghost peppers. I've even got Venus flytraps in it and they are flowering. I was pleasantly surprised with this, I wish I had ordered more than 3.

Best Coco Used Thus Far
Its coco. Its a compressed brick. And it makes a lot of medium to utilize. There is not much else to really say.One thing worth mentioning is that this version was not loaded with alkaline materials like other brands. We have been able to use it by just breaking off and mixing with dirt, as well as by soaking it and prepping.... both came out well. Whether it is for indoor or outdoor use, this brand/type gives a very good amount for the price while also remaining free of the high alkalinity in other forms of coco blocks. It is a great medium, and works very well when mixing. On its own... you need a little more skill. But it is not as difficult as switching to other mediums. You just have to understand there is no nutrient value, and augment your own with ancillary supplies.

Micro Green Farmer Approved
I've tried quite a few different coco coir offerings of Amazon and I have to say that other than the price this is now my go to medium for indoor growing especially with micro greens and herbs. It breaks down easier and has a better feel to it, spreads more evenly with ease. Nice to work with. Plants love it so far, been using it a couple months now hopefully it stays the same. thanks

Great Addition to My Potting Soil
I really didn't know what to expect when I ordered this product. I needed something added to my potting soil that would absorb moisture and hold it in the potting container longer than just plain potting soil. It came as a large square brick. I opened it up in a large plastic container and poured water on it, so that I could break it up. It absorbed the water beautifully and over the course of 45 minutes I was able to loosen the brick. It has no smell and blended great with my potting soil and compost. I have started a bunch of seeds indoors in this mixture and it's working great. I highly recommend this product as an addition to your potting soil.
