Works with Z7 and FTZ on RRS clamps. Nice quality
Update:I have a Nikon Z7. RRS does not yet have an L-Plate for this camera yet, and they do not offer an L-Plate for the FTZ adapter. This little plate has three channels for the screw milled into it: one going lengthwise and two going crosswise. On the Z7, it is possible to mount the plate with the lengthwise channel, but the plate is a little too wide for the FTZ adapter to be mounted as the base of the FTZ adapter bangs into the plate when trying to mount. But mounting the plate on the camera using one of the crosswise channels give the right amount of clearance. Mounting with the crosswise channel on the FTZ adapter gives a "foot" type mount for the adapter to hold heavy lenses. I would say this is the perfect and essential accessory for the Z7 for any RRS or Arca-Swiss users. It works with RRS screw and lever clamps. It fits easily without tools. There are two safety screws to keep the dovetail from falling out when the clamp is halfway lose: this is a nice addition. The manufacturer also included a hex key for removing them if you don't like them.It is nicely packaged.Upgraded to 5 stars and just ordered another.

Fit on RRS BH-40
I ordered this to use with a Vello BG-C9 grip for a Canon 5D III, to be used mostly with an RRS BH-40 ball head and lever-release clamp. RRS does not make a plate that fits the Vello (slightly larger than the Canon model), so went with this plate, as RRS multi-use plates cost 4x more.1. Material is of good quality and I do like the "thumb" screw rather than having to pull out an allen wrench when mounting.2. Fit however is not up to RRS standards. Milling tolerance appears not to be as exact, whereby some may find the fit fine, others not, which may explain the differences in the reviews. While the one I received is servicable under controled situations, it is not tight when mounted on the clamp (definite difference compared to RRS plates), and with a medium amount of effort, it will slide on the clamp. While it does have "stop" screws to keep it from completely coming off, I would not be comfortable carrying the camera on a tripod using this plate. For emergency, spare, or controled situations, this is a worthy product for the price. However, with the investment that I have in equipment, I will be keeping this for this purpose only, and will be ordering the RRS multi-purpose plate for regular use, which can be used with other equipment as well.

Didn't fit at first...
This Arca Swiss compatible plate seems well made and I like the option of attachment without using tools. Using the lift up D ring on the slot screw makes its' attachment easier in the field. Out of the box the plate worked with my Really Right Stuff (RRS) head on my monopod which uses a screw in type knob. It did not immediately work with my RRS ballhead lever quick release as it slipped front to back. I noticed that a similar (more expensive) RRS plate had the two silver set screws backed out a bit further than the Desmond. I used an allen wrench to back out the two Desmond plate screws and all was right with the world. You will also note the additional two slots on the Desmond plate which can be utilized by positioning the D ring screw on one end of the current slot and then unscrewing. Removing this screw allows for placement at any of the three slot positions increasing its' versatility.

Almost perfect
The only thing that can make this plate batter is a strap loop on the long end. I use my dslr for video, and I setup my arca swiss parallel to the lens like the sliding quick release plates on fluid heads. This arca swiss system is way better than larger plate systems for large broadcast and cinema cameras, the manfrotto 501 standard for example. The coolest thing is that if you setup your clamps right you can drop in and then lock your clamp, sliding in is sometimes troublesome. Lastly, the the provided studs add an extra layer of protection to loose clamps.

Works Well with a Markins Q3
Not a whole lot to say about a QR plate, but I will say that this one works well for my purposes. I have this longer plate attached to the lens collar of a 70-200 2.8 lens so that I can attach the lens directly to the ball-head, with the camera attached to the lens. It was worked well for me for this purpose. I have tightened the screw quite tight in order to minimize the lens sliding on the plate, and it has held very solidly. It also fits into my Markins Q3 ball head, which has a screw-lock connector plate on top. I can't speak to whether this plate would fit in a lever-lock Arca-Swiss mount, but it fits just fine in my screw-lock one. If you have a setup similar to mine, I think this is a good, cheap QR plate to get!

Good quality but be aware of the location where screw can be placed
Product quality is good. However, due to the placement of the screw, it does not fit in the middle or well with the OEM foot of long tele zoom, 70-200 F2.8. It will fit for the purpose of having a plate to use, but not squarely with the OEM foot, hence not centered as should be. The other two screw hole is either on the two side, making it strange on the OEM foot. I ended buying the plate which is specifically designed for the lens foot with 2 screws instead of one, and use this one for another camera having no plate. The location where the screw can be used is only at the ends of the slots. So be aware!

For use on Really Right Stuff BH-40 Quick Release Head
Needed to get a plate for my Nikon D600 and since none of the big sellers had them ready to go I decided to try this out. It worked great on my Really Right Stuff BH-40 head with the quick release style clamp. Nice not to have to dig around in my bag for the allen wrench to attach it to the bottom of my camera and it worked out great. I also have a Black Rapid that I converted using a Kirk small clamp that attaches to the plate and never had an issue with the camera carrying it around. Great item and fits nice and tight on both types of clamps and may pick up a few more to have around.
