How big is it when folded up?

Around 12 inches or so. Small enough to fit inside the average backpack. It's flexible and won't take up a lot of space. I had to watch a few youtube videos to learn how to fold it up, haha. Even with my arthritis I can do it with little trouble. Hope this helps. It's very well made despite some reviewers stating otherwise. There are more expensive ones but I really can't see spending more money when this one is very good quality.

Can you take these underwater?

I havent used it underwater, but im quite sure if your on the surface and angle the light to hit into the water than your underwater pics will come out fine.

No, it does not come with a grey card.

How many white pieces does it come with?

It comes with one interchangeable piece with a gold, silver, black and white side. This piece goes over a diffuser which is also white but not as reflective as the white side of the interchangeable cover. Hope that helps.
