OEM replacement quality
I have used Mann a number of times in the past. I have also compared them to the OEM filters. Minus the OEM brand name on the filter, there is no way you could tell the difference. Priced well, good quality. Just my opinion, but I also do not recommend waiting for 10,000 miles to do an oil change. So I tend to go through 2 of these a year. Quick shipping

Mann Filters a trusted name in filters for many years.
I have used Mann Filters for years and this HU719/8X Oil Filter looks, fits and works perfectly in my 2006 Volvo S40. Even though they may be made in Mexico, their high quality control and materials remains consistent. Mann Filters are the exact replacement for OEM Volvo filters at a fraction of the price. These oil filters hold up very well with Castrol synthetic motor oil with no dissolved filter material when removing the old oil filter. I picked up a 3pkg deal of these filters for $17 bucks but I also use Beck Arnley, Fram or Volvo Filters, choosing comes down to price.

Good quality OEM oil filter
Quality factor replacement oil filter. Have used Mann filters in our car for a couple years, always fits and does it's job well. Good price as well with prime.

Mann Filter for My Volvo
I have installed the German made Mann oil filter for my Volvo S60, 2.5t. No metal in this filter but appears to be well made and I have had not issues with sealing, oil pressure, performance etc. One issue I have noted: When installing, I have found it necessary to "wiggle" the cartridge into place, gently, as it fits onto the base of the filter housing snuggly. The dome, however, will tighten down with no issues and I have never experienced any problems having used the Mann filter for a few oil changes now. This seems a reasonable alternative for the overpriced "Volvo" factory filter insert.
