Impressive (and Tasty) Range
This book is great - it gives me just what I want in a popsicle book, which is flavor ideas/combinations I wouldn't come up with on my own, and a range of difficulty from simple to complex. There is a bit of everything, for any palate and level. If you want a simple pop, there are lots that are very straightforward - example: Apricot Pops are made with water, sugar, apricot nectar and fresh apricots. Make a simple syrup, cool it, combine with apricot nectar and apricots, put in molds, freeze. Lots of very simple ones like that. Plus every recipe has variation ideas, like Apricot & Basil or Apricot & Cherry, plus it tells the yield which is helpful since all molds are different sizes. If you are looking for complicated, you can find that, too, like the Cookie Dough Pops, in which you make your own cookie dough, bake some of it into cookies, stir the rest into vanilla ice cream, then make cookie ice cream sandwiches on a stick with it all. An all-day project! There are six chapters and even though we don't drink coffee & tea (chapter 5) OR alcohol (chapter 6) I still say this book is TOTALLY worth the $10 just for the ones I do use: Health Energy Pops (example: Green Apple & Flax Seed Pops), Fruit Juice Pops (ex: Kiwi Pops), Soda Fountain Pops (ex: Strawberry Soda Pops) and Cream & Pudding Pops(ex: Coconut Cream Yogurt Pops.)No one needs a cookbook to tell them how to make old standy favorites (pudding pops? TANG pops, anyone?) But at the same time who wants to put pastry-chef-effort into a simple cool treat? This book offers a very full range and really triple the recipes if you count all the variation suggestions - amazing offerings!

Good Idea Book
I actually purchased this book looking for some recipes for fruit pops for summer--and those we've tried have been good. But the book had a lot of other choices as well, the chapter titles are: Fruit Juice Pops, Healthy Energy Pops, Soda Fountain Pops, Cream & Pudding Pops, Coffee & Tea Pops, and Cocktail pops. So it has a nice selection of things to try beyond the basic fruit juice pop.So far, we've tried the Root Beer float pops, the Carmel latte pops, and the Thai Iced Coffee Pops. All were yummy and not difficult to make. There are lots of pictures which I always helpful for a recipe book. The book also has a section on how to make your own Popsicle molds, which I haven't tried yet, but it looks like you can be creative with those if you're more craftsy. The molds I use are also sold by Amazon. They're smaller than standard pops, but that's what I like about them. They don't melt before you can finish them. And since they're silicon, they're easy to unmold. Orka Ice Pop Molds, White Base

AWESOME, INSPIRING BOOK
At my first Maker Faire in SF, I timidly went up to Krystina Castella's booth. Her beautiful new Pops! book was displayed prominently along with all kinds of creative pop molds. Oh heaven! She immediately drew me into her wonderful research on popsicles. This book is full of fantastic ideas for beautiful popsicles. I love the healthy popsicles, as well as the racier adult dinner drinks popsicles. It even has that "maker edge" and teaches you how to make your own popsicle molds--discussing the best shapes for easy extraction.Sadly I didnt buy it that day, and had to wait until it was officially published. I snapped it up. I am so happy to own this inspiring book. I would have joined amazon in a heartbeat just to give this book props. I liked this book so much that I also bought her other books too. It's that good. Total eye candy for those who love frozen treats!

Good book to pair up with some popsicle molds
I hesitated before ordering this book because I thought I had enough ideas for some tasty popsicles. But I must say that the book contains some recipes I would have never thought of myself and I'm dying to try them! I appreciate the numerous illustrations. I just wish ALL the popsicles were pictured... One good feature: Alt Pops. For many of the recipes, the writer gives some variations of that recipe that are very interesting. Another excellent feature: the recipes are categorized into 6 groups (Healthy Energy pops, Fruit Juice pops, Coffee and Tea pops, etc.) which I found very useful when I'm trying to figure out what I'd like to make. Overall I think this book is a great addition to my collection of cookbooks.

Yum!
I decided to buy the book despite over zealous reviews and have tried one recipe thus far--Rocky Road Pudding Pops. The ingredients are simple and most people should have them in a well stocked pantry. The recipe does make a lot so be prepared to have extra molds on hand just in case. I also purchased the Orko silicone molds at the same time of book purchase. The molds are easy to use and handy with the non-drip handle and stick in one piece. Unpeeling the frozen popsicle with the silicone molds was a breeze. Hopefully an over achieving publicist has not caused more harm than good with potentially phony reviews. We are happy with the book and look forward to trying out more recipes.
