Best Kayak I've ever used.
This is the best kayak I've ever used. I wanted a sit on top kayak (because of my size, getting in and out of a sit-in is a pain) and was looking at them at dick's on sale, and then found this one on sale on amazon about 50% off that had some extras the one's at dick's didn't (was the last one on sale, sorry!). I'm so glad I got it. Mine came without one of the bags and seals in one of the clamshell storage compartments, but I contacted the manufacturer and they sent me a whole compartment with all parts free within a week. Pros: - 350lb capacity - I'm 6ft 280lbs and this thing is perfect for me plus some extra gear/cooler. Very bouyant - Yak Attack mounting rails are a great plus. I haven't bought or made anything to attach to them yet, but I'm sure I will in the future. - Lots of dry storage compartments (actually stays dry, after about 4-5 hours on the river, the internal of the kayak was completely dry) - I was worried about stability of a sit-on-top, but this one is super stable, I never felt like I was going to flip it. I even tried leaning over to see how far I could go and had to go quite far before it even felt like I was going to flip. I'd say you could probably stand up in it if you have good balance, but don't know if I'll try that any time soon. - The seat has great back support and I never felt fatigue in my back during my trip - Tracks really straight, and glides through the water quite fast - Front scupper holes don't let too much water in where it can get you - Color scheme is pretty cool Cons: - Some of the screws will come loose and need constant tightening. Maybe locktite will help that, but I wish they used rivets or something for more parts. - The seat cushioning is a bit too hard, and my bum started to hurt a bit after about 2 solid hrs - A bit slow to turn as you would expect for a 12ft kayak, but not too bad - The rear bungee'd storage well has scupper holes, and they def let water in due to how low the well sits, so you'll want to get scupper plugs. I'd recommend the one-way, self-bailing scupper valves
