This is a great guide that is easy to understand with both understanding what the GI is, how to have a balanced diet, how the GI works, and tons of variety of GI values! It even has the proper serving sides and different nutrition values for all the food it mentions I love it!

Vitally important information!
Nice summary of GI values that are scientifically tested. However, many products listed are not available at my local grocery store. I think this has many products sold in Australia since the testing is done in there. For staples and many international products this has information I need to keep my blood sugar on an even keel. I have found this book to be absolutely essential. Eating only slow and medium-fast absorbed carbs has made me feel better and kept my blood sugar at reasonable amounts. In spite of being diagnosed with prediabetes (or metabolic syndrome) many years ago, paying attention to the GI of foods has kept me from going into diabetes like my father and younger brother. I also don't get the low blood sugar that makes me irritable and tired like I used to because I know what to eat to keep my blood sugar at a low but steady rate. Vitally important information!

Useful book
Great book to use as a guide to lower your A1c. Thirty years I ate a diet for diabetics to keep the disease away. Five years of slacking and I am back on the diet or else. I needed a guide to refresh my memory. This book is great. I use it to plan my meals and to write my grocery list. Easy to use, well written and has more information than necessary for my purpose.

Perfect Book for the start of watching what you eat!
It is easy to follow and accurate to use. As long as you follow the diet.

Good tool for managing blood sugar
Gives you all you need to know, including carbohydrate grams. The quantities are a bit odd in spots, but I don't mind doing simple math.

Can't read the small GI Graph Lists
I bought this book for one main reason. There was to be a GLYCEMIC LIST with informations relative to glycemic levels. I hastily read the book which I downloaded to my original Kindle Reader only to find that when I got to the pages for INDEX(s), the font was so small that I could barely (no exaggeration) see the listing to read. I was much disappointed. Felt defrauded since the whole point of the book was to see all the food groups as to GI levels. I checked this book out on my Kindle for computer also. Same dilemma. Small unreadable fonts in a picture graph that looked like it had been reduced to 8pt font or something. Got taken. Not happy :( I gave one star for GI background information, otherwise I'd not have given any referral stars.

Good for Diabetics
I find this useful. The table fonts are much too small however for Kindle app in mobile devices. Needs updating also.

excellent book just needed an index
does what i wanted, which is to give lists of foods and their glycemic index,It also adds a lot more nutritive information per food. The only thing it really lacks is an alphabetised index, which would hve made looking up foods a lot quicker.useful if you live in australia and eat a lot of prepackaged foods. But as it also covers food ingredients - just as useful for the rest of us :-)

Good guide
It covers all food groups and lists most food so it is a good guide for shopping and planning a meal.
