Great weatherproof travel bag
Bought this in conjunction with a hitch cargo unit. This bag is 60x24x24 and is contracted very well. I see other reviews where people made a frame for it out of pvc pipe, but I don’t think it was needed. I started loading the bag with duffel bags. I got 5 duffel bags into this large storage bag and still had plenty of extra room. I loaded the rest of the bag with the rest of our cargo, both loose and bagged. I filled the entire bag. The zipper is easy to locate in the dark and moves around the bag very easy. This came with a small combination lock to lock the storage bag zippers which was nice. The zippers are covered by about 3 additional inches of material that Velcro’s to the bag. We took a 12 hour (each way) trip and drove through both heavy ran and bright sunshine. All of our luggage was nice and dry upon arriving at our destination. It’s nice to have handles on the bag, but I didn’t use them on our most recent trip. Once back home and unpacked, I was able to fold the bag up and get it into the included storage bag. Would recommend to anyone in the market. Glad I bought it. Used to use a roof top cargo mount and this makes the hitch mount so much easier.

Worked as expected
First let me start by saying that I did not use this on a trailer hitch carrier. Instead I used this as a truck bag because the Marksign 25 cubic foot bag intended for use in a truck bed is $100 more and bigger than I really needed.I just returned from a trip from Philadelphia to Cape Cod and back. On the way there is absolutely poured rain non-stop from the time I left to the time I reached New Haven, CT. Then is rained off and on the rest of the way there. Everything that was in the bag was completely dry when I arrived at my destination. Just keep in mind that this was sitting in the bed of a truck and not on a trailer hitch carrier that is getting splashed from all sides.I will say that the bag is thick and seems like it can take quite a beating. Given this, I think that my stuff would have been just as dry had it been on a trailer hitch carrier as it was in the bed of my truck. Just make sure the exhaust pipe of your vehicle is not in a position where it will melt the bag.

Great additional storage
This storage bag was an absolute must with 6 people traveling over 600 miles to the Tennessee mountains. Held up very well, and very durable albeit a bit rigid to open and close when temps are low. It maintained complete water and snow resistance throughout our trip and all contents stayed dry. I used an additional ratchet strap for added security and a cable lock from the d-ring through the cargo carrier handle and it worked flawlessly. I did purchase the “pvc” frame that Marksign sells and it made loading a breeze although it is NOT pvc - as applying tension with the ratchet strap caused one of the side upper cross bars to crack. I’ll be purchasing real pvc to replace the broken piece. But I loved having the frame nonetheless.

Not 100% WaterPROOF, but VERY water resistant, and still an excellent product otherwise.
We had previously strapped 2 rolling totes onto the rack onto our hitch rack, but they were beginning to crack and rust, so it was time to find something new. After significant research this product seemed like the best option for us. It is made of heavy duty material, has handles on each end for carrying it when loaded (you'll want two people for this), comes with excellent nylon straps for securing it to the rack, and a small combination lock to deter any opportunity-seeking thieves at rest stops. We used cable lock (purchased separately) to lock it to the rack. Using a single, larger container enabled us to transport larger items than the separate totes had previously. Storage of this cargo bag is simple since it fits into its own small storage bag (also included). When driving for many hours through a heavy rain, only a small amount of moisture came in under the flaps and through the zipper. We had decided to pack some items into 18 gallon plastic storage totes and large vacuum bags inside the cargo bag to ease with packing and to protect the more moisture-sensitive items. This worked quite well.Overall, I'm glad it was time for us to make a change, and this was definitely the right choice. I look forward to using this again next time we travel.

Waterproof unless you splash standing water on it
The weak point will be the straps. If you rely ONLY on the straps to hold it on the carrier or rooftop, the straps will tear eventually. Use the bag's straps to attach it, but buy ratchet straps to tie down the bag tightly. With regards to tailpipe exhausts, if your vehicle's tailpipe goes out the back of your vehicle, you must get an extension from an auto parts store or Amazon. It will have an angle that makes the exhaust go out the side away from the bag. We drove 5 hours in a light to medium rain. We had 2 pillows in the bag. And they felt a little damp because it was cold outside. Suitcases were not wet. The Tahoe is tall so it blocked a lot of the rain. A lower car might be different. We saw 2 other cars with bags in hitch carriers on our trip. Both drove through puddles of water which soaked their bags. Water flew up under the bags so I bet they think their bags are not waterproof. Standing water is not friendly to your bag.

Perfect Road Trip Hauler!
This cargo bag took its first long road trip from New York to Florida. Drove through one full day of pounding rain and all was dry inside. I purchased three large plastic container boxes that fit inside the carrier (made it easier to pack things) and had spare room for 3 small luggage suitcases that sat on top. I have a Curt hitch cargo carrier and fabricated an aluminum shield to deflect any heat from the exhaust. As you can see the combination of the cargo bag and hitch carrier cleared any issue with the trunk opening on my Kia Telluride (was unable to load video). Also, like some other people, I built an inside skeleton frame out of 1 inch pvc pipe. Zipper is a little tricky around the corners as some have mentioned but you just need to align the zipper ends perfectly straight before pulling either way. Overall, happy with this cargo bag and will use many times for long road trips.
