Coleman really "nailed" it -- get it? -- "nailed"? It's a pun. Whatever, these things are awesome.
At $2.00 per four stakes, this is a great deal. Local stores seem to always want to charge me $1.00 per stake, so when I saw these on Amazon I picked up $20 worth. I'm replacing all of my cheap, thin, bent, weak tent stakes with these. I have had some of these for years, and while people say the plastic is "prone to breaking", I've found that to be slightly unfair. The plastic will break if you run this stake all the way into some thick ground and then try to pry it out by just the tab, but if you use it correctly and leave a good couple of inches above ground (remember to run it in at an angle so the metal shaft itself is what holds the tent in place instead of the plastic end) then you can pull it out easily and they'll last for a good long time.I'll never use those old cheap stakes again. I love these things and think that anyone who owns a tent should immediately purchase some to replace all of their crap included tent stakes. Your other option is to just buy a bunch of these really large nails and bend them into the L-shape of a typical tent stake, but it's a lot less work to buy these.

Worth Every Cent!
<Update five months after purchase> Sad to say that these sturdy stakes rust. I own glampsites (luxury camping) and whatever I use for my business stays where I put it for a while unlike regular camping where tents go up for a few days and then dismantled. It's difficult to yank rusted stakes out of the ground, so much so that some of the green tangs broke. I'm still on a learning curve with my business and these taught me to look for the words "rust proof" in the description. These are top of the line stakes. A two hour storm whipped up without much warning and these guys never budged in 30 mph winds. That nice metal tang at the top takes a beating without damaging the green plastic tops. I misplaced a hammer to pry them out of the ground and used one of them to pry the rest of the stakes from the ground. I would never have tried that with the cheapie stakes that come with even the best tents. These things are solid and heavy. Definitely happy with my choice. I bought extra to share with camping buddies - there's always someone who can't find their stakes or throw away bent ones and need more. They're probably going to do just what I did and buy these things. There's so many to choose from but trust me, you want these.

Handy long tent stakes
Bought these to supplement the cheaper stakes that came with our tent. They worked great and were better quality than the original ones. Used once and no complaints so far.

Nice for now, we'll see how they hold up!
Big tent stakes, easy to use and very secure - but I can see future breakage issues upon removal.Long story short, I love these stakes! They are big, easy to use and actually serve their intended purpose quite well. I've got a 12' x 12' dome tent with a ton of guy lines to steak down, I generally use the 10" stakes to secure the main points and the factory hardware everywhere else. So, the only drawback as others have mentioned is that the plastic head just isn't as stout as the rest of the stake... Taking great care I managed to remove both of my sets without damage, but I can totally see snapping some ends sometime down the road.

Great stakes!
I use these for a farmers market tent, and they work great. They go into grass easily, and pull out easily with the finger holds. They don't require a hammer or gloves unless the soil is very compacted. Put them in at a strong angle for a little more support.

Easy to install, good quality, great value.
This is my 4th pack of these as I use them for just about everything that need to be secured down. These are the best for securing your tent, popups, portable green houses, etc. We purchased a new quality tent and although it came with decent looking stakes, they were almost impossible to get in to the dry hard ground when camping. These stakes went in without a problem. The clip on top of them make it easy to pull them out when it’s time to break up camp. We get some pretty strong wind storm here so one fall, I use the on my portable greenhouse and haven’t had any issues with it taking flight in a storm.

Great stakes after one modification
I've owned these stakes for 6 years now and use them a few times a year. I added some nylon cord to the top of each stake and use that to pull the stake out. This puts stress on the shank of the stake and not the green plastic which is not very durable. I use a 1lb rubber mallet to hammer the stake into the ground and then use the wood handle through the nylon cord when I need to remove. This allows you to place 2 hands on the handle and use your legs to pull stubborn stakes (I've used all my strength before with this method and the nylon cord held strong). For those wanting to do the same mod, I used a constrictor knot to tie the cord to the shank and a double fisherman to connect the cord ends.

I've had pretty good luck with the v-shaped stakes
I've used the cheapies that come with tents, the v-shaped, and now these. Everyone knows those cheap pegs that are included aren't worth anything. I've had pretty good luck with the v-shaped stakes, they are dirt cheap and I don't mind if one gets lost or bent. But with the drought conditions I've been camping in, the ground is getting pretty tough and I've been bending several of these each outing. It's more the inconvenience of having to go get replacements as I always have spares on hand for at the time. So I figured these were still very reasonably priced and they were worth a try. I used them on one trip, with rock hard ground, and these suckers just sunk right in nice and tight. Easy enough to pull out with a stake puller too. Sure, they're a little heavier once you total up about 22 of them that I use on various things, but we car camp and it's totally worth it.
