I bought this after meeting a man in Poland who was using this item. This item will hold 2 to 3 butts. It does stay closed. I used it over 40 days while in European cities. European towns and cities often have trash receptacles on most streets where you can dump the butts.

You don't get to pick what it looks like but it's pretty great quality I bought two of them and ones going to be a gift for Christmas so it works great as intended and is very sturdy, sturdier then I thought they were going to be! Very light so take care/warning resting it on blankets (have had mine go flying a number of times)

Smaller than I expected, only holds so much ash, and in execution, the cig holder just gets in the way

The size of the ashtray is about the same size (perhaps a tad smaller) than your standard pocket watch. While it would clink loudly if you kept it on your keychain (because of the hollow metal) it is more silent and just as functional to clip it to your belt loop and tuck it in a pocket. The bottom is ribbed so its easy to snuff out a cherry, and the leaf shaped spring loaded holder is perfectly shaped and classy looking. It closes tight enough that ash doesn't slip out, though make sure to give it a good tap before opening it if you left ashes inside to make sure you dot get a mess on your hands. It also does a good job at keeping any ashy smell sealed. Perfect for smokers and tokers polite enough not leave piles of ash everywhere, and for those conscientious enough to not risk starting fires by flicking their herb of choice wherever it may land.
