Contadina Tomato Sauce with Italian Herbs, 15 oz (Pack of 12 Cans)

We used to be able to get this in town but it’s disappeared from the grocery store shelves lately so we were thrilled to find it and such a great price here. This is the sauce we use for pizzas, pasta, and anything that calls for tomato sauce because the flavor is so much better than plain tomato sauce. Many store bought pizza sauces are sweet or overpowering to the toppings so this with its lighter and well balanced seasoning is perfect. As a bonus the mid sized cans are great because one can it enough for either a few smaller pizzas or one large one and there’s no waste.

Good sauce, great price. No complaints whatsoever. I’ll buy this again.***Updated 8/9/2025: after I wrote this review I went to buy more and noticed that the price doubled from when I previously bought it. It went from $12.96/case(12) to $24.00. I can’t recommend it at this price, though the sauce is pretty good.

This is the best affordable tomato sauce. Very flavorful! There is no need to add any salt. Ot is great as is.

Canned tomatoes are always good to have in the pantry!

So here we are with a tomato sauce review. I will start by saying, that I USUALLY purchase sauces in a jar as those are more mainstream for all the spaghetti lovers out there. But if you look for the canned sauces, you will usually get a better overall price and freshness. Such is the case with Contadina Italian Herbs Sauce. You can taste a bit of basil and perhaps garlic in the mix. TBH I did not look at the ingredients. But that is the flavors I got from it. It had a fresh taste that you do not get quite as well from the more mainstream jar sauces. The price is good for the amount you get and thus would make a great buy for your food stores. If you have never thought of trying this...go ahead and do so.

tasty addition to my pantry. I keep an assortment of tomato products on hand, and I often buy Contadina brand as it is smooth, fresh, with good flavor. I love the addition of herbs. Make for quick base for sauces, or even used as pizza sauce. Though I have and love their pizza sauce too.

I love being able to buy Contadina online as a lot of store near me don't carry it. 7 of the 12 cans were dented with two being so dented, I won't use them or donate them. This is very disappointing.
