Made Things Way Better
Due to wear and tear and more than one fall from a ladder, my impact driver was sounding pretty rough, and the bit ejection spring wasn't doing it's job. Replacing the anvil assembly really made a difference and was a much better option to replacing the whole thing. Reassembly was a bear because of a slightly bent housing, but I did manage to get it back together. If you're a little adventurous and a lot mechanically inclined this is a very good alternative to spending $180 for a whole new tool.

Used for my Porter cable 1/4 hex impact gun
Everything fit on my port cable impact except the collar I had to use the old collar due to height difference.

Works like a charm!
My Dewalt impact drill started dropping the bit out of the chuck because the little retainer clip inside apparently breaks over time... so theoretically I didn't need the whole rebuild kit, just that pin... but it certainly didn't hurt just to replace the whole anvil assembly and everything. But now with all that replaced, it's good as new! It's a little bit of a tedious process to pull the whole thing apart and put it back together, but with a couple very helpful YouTube videos with someone replacing the whole thing on the correct drill, it's really not that bad, I think it may have taken me an hour start to finish including watching videos and rewinding to make sure I had the process down... but hey an hour of time and $20 to get it back up and running properly saves about $80 to replace the whole drill, so it's a win in my book!
