Forget feathers, forget layers. The Mount Tallac Jacket allows you to take one piece from windbreaker to winter parka while out on life's adventures. NuDown's Variable Insulation Technology, (a system of trapped air surrounding the torso), allows you to endlessly adjust your warmth in nature's constantly changing conditions. That, combined with the impressive Polartec NeoShell ultra-stretch, ultra-breathable, waterproof shell, and the absence of insulation in the sleeves, makes the men's Mount Tallac Jacket the most versatile in the line. You'll be comfortable from sun-up to sun-down, without the hassle of ever stopping to add or drop a layer. Powerful Warmth: When you really need protection from the elements, NuDown jackets and vests offer impenetrable warmth around your torso. At max inflation the jacket will snug firmly to your torso securely trapping your body heat. At the same time, this internal air pressure blocks the wind from compressing the material. All NuDown jackets and vests are immune to compression at full inflation capacity. You'll never feel the cold metal of the chair lift again! A great jacket
These are extremely well made and water proof. Would be nice to have insulation in arms but the pump up design works very well. A very flexible jacket well worth the $.

i honestly think it's a scam
When something is priced at $800 MSRP you would expect top-notch design/quality. But in this case i think it's a scam. The jacket itself is ok and feels pretty warm, however, sleeves are not insulated at all. i just used this jacket at 30 degrees with fleece midlayer and my torso was justfine but my hands were cold, i have no idea how exactly manufacturers expect you to be able to keep your hands warm. are there any special hand warmers available?this would make a nice vest, but a jacket? no way.

All they did for this jacket is sew the "Vest" version of the Nudown product to a pretty poor quality shell
Jacket was too big. EXTREMELY over priced. All they did for this jacket is sew the "Vest" version of the Nudown product to a pretty poor quality shell. 2 Stars because the vest seemed to insulate very well, and the adjust-ability worked nicely.Only problem with adjusting air pressure I had was it was difficult to get all of the air out without some sort of vacuum.

Nudown - Go for Perfection
The shipment was quick and accurate (5 stars for Amazon). It is a good looking jacket with bright color on the Neoshell. I took this jacket to hit the shower for 20 minutes plus non-stop. I turned the full throttle on the cold water to see how the Neoshell withstand. I stopped the brutal test when I felt my hair was a bit wet. To be an overall top notch performance gear, there are some improvement areas.Pros:- Good looking and well design.- Extremely comfortable and that is the reason why I want to switch to the Neoshell from my previous hardshell jacket.- Generous length.- Top notch materials and the Neoshell beads better than my other hardshell jackets.- Pocket and zipper available where you expected.Cons:- Craftsmanship was not top grade as the stitch should be tighter (higher stitch count) and there were leaking spots near the rim of the front hood (fully taped seams failed after 20 minutes of shower). I believe the core materials were made in USA and assembled in Thailand.- It is not a light weight jacket compared to down or other insulation materials.- The Primaloft Gold was only found in the collar, not as advertised on the Nudown website for Mount Tallac where it stated “Insulation in sleeves, collar & hood: Primaloft Gold”. I guess it might be the original design then abandoned in the production stage or the website mixed up the spec with Squaw Peak.- There are 9 ventilation holes at the lower back of the jacket on the bamboo charcoal liner. However, the holes were just a simply punch through without and protective ring as Nudown did for the draw cord on the center top of the hood.

It really works!!!
I really like the jacket. It's super warm, though I was skeptical as to whether it would work in super cold temp. I'm currently ⛷ in Deer Valley where it's been as low as 11 degrees Fahrenheit during the day, yet, I'm not even cold and I'm from Texas! Much lighter than my older jacket which was great, but getting old and was getting bored with it. It looks great and fits perfectly.

Best jacket I've ever owned
Absolute best jacket on the market! Lightweight, comfortable and many strategic pockets. It fits perfectly and is the best styled jacket I've seen. Oh, it also keeps you really warm! Having the ability to inflate or deflate the jacket for temperature control is a brilliant concept. 5 stars from me!

Very well-made jacket
Didn't get mine on Amazon, but figured this is the best place to write a review. The jacket is sturdy and comfortable. It's also very warm (glad I got mine this winter... coldest winter in years so far). Fits well and looks great.

Fantastic jacket. I love the flexibility afforded by the variable insulation. The jacket looks fantastic and works great whether it's just cold outside or if it's freezing.
