HEATGENE Towel Warmer Wall-Mounted Hardwired Heated Towel Rack Matte Black

My 10 year old towel warmer died. I was leery of this unit and actually purchased a different brand at almost twice the price from a big box hardware store. I ended up returning it when it barely warmed the towels. (91 degrees was the highest temperature it reached after being on 24 hours) Then I took a shot on this model and folks I can not recommend it enough. Easy to install and wire up and it warms towels quickly.

This rack works gr8. Hubby hardwired it for me into existing outlet. Folks have asked if it warms the space where it's installed. Yes! Warmth emanates from it! I leave it on for days/weeks, even. Especially use it to dry my used towels. Dries two (folded) bath towels and I even hang my hair towel at the corner. Luv it!!!

The unit arrived undamaged and looks great. I did not have any 'rack' issues like others have mentioned (i.e., out of square). I installed it with a timer. It heats up quick and is hot. We're still in construction phase, so I don't know how well it dries towels. The cover that goes over the electrical box was not as clean as I would like, but it's mostly hidden behind the rack, so that's fine. I gave it a 4 rating instead of 5 simply because the manufacturer didn't include a simple one penny template for installation. When you install it, there is NO wiggle room if you ever-so-slightly get those mounting points off by a minute fraction. I realized that before installation, so I was extremely careful to get it right the first time. Measuring over and over again, and numerous times of putting the unit up against the wall (risking scratching the new paint job) making absolutely sure that the markings for the screws were precise. Even then, the unit needs to be pushed onto the posts all at the same time...push one in, and there is no way you'll get all 4 in. And then you still have to make sure your plate is perfectly centered on your electrical box. It all went fine for me, but I also spent an awful lot of time to make sure it did. A template would eliminate a lot of wasted time and worry.

I pre-heated for up to 3 hours and it barely gets the towels warm. And then it's only the part directly on the bar, not the part hanging down. Paid $1K for electrical hard wire/installation, and I can't get that back. Stunned at all the good reviews... is mine defective, or does this thing only get the towels barely lukewarm? EXTREMELY unhappy. Would want a replacement to see if another one works?

Finally a heated towel bar that actually heats the towel! This is the 4th one I tested. the others kinda warmed or warmed in spots. This heats the towel fairly thoroughly. Its not designed that great with cumbersome mounting system, but with some stuggle gets the job done. It comes with a ridiculous plate to cover the J box connection, it uses a rather large rubber grommet to make the fit, I will make something better. It's the only one that heats well so I must persevere.

Here is an update to my earlier review. No, I do not recommend. The heat is not evenly distributed as advertised. Read the other reviews that confirm my experience. I did write to Heatgene but they seemed to not really care. Have not installed yet. That will be in a couple of months when full master bath Reno is done, and could update then. It looks great. Just what I want. Sturdy, well made! Weighty. Nice match to the other brush/satin nickel bath items.

Has worked well up to now. Bought product in 2023 but now the switch is stuck. Is there a way to repair the switch?

We purchased a total of 4 of these, 3 in August & 1 in September for installation in the new home we were building in 2019. We moved into the home in early December 2019. One of the towel bars failed on Monday night November 1, 2021. I contacted their Customer Service through their website on Tuesday morning November 2. They responded via email in less than an hour. We had a brief, but quick exchange of emails and they shipped a replacement unit that day. I received it on Thursday November 4th. There were no questions asked, they did not question that it was more than 2 years after the date of purchase. Overall a great experience. Best of all, we really enjoy the warm towels after our showers. I would recommend these to anyone interested in heated towel bars.

Takes about an hour to heat up a towel nicely. Make sure your towel is folded so it traps in the heat. Not spread out over the bar. That also makes room for clothes /pjs. so those are warm as well once you dry off. Perfect size. Works great. I love it!
