Great for cooking! Fun and easy to grow!
We got the trio along with a golden from another seller and set them up in some $10 plastic boxes from the garden store. After set up(super easy), we sprayed the inside of the boxes in the morning and night. Were in Colorado so it's very dry, you may have to just do 1 a day. The mushrooms grow from fuzz to cluster very quickly! It's so satisfying to be able to see growth change within a day by the naked eye. They are an amazing opportunity for a science, farming, harvesting, foraging, and cooking lesson!! Cool for kids and adults! We have gotten several flushes which makes it all the more worth it to have them. We love the mushrooms cooked in butter and turned into a cream sauce!

IF you follow their specific directions, THESE WILL GROW!
I was amazed by the results. You MUST mist them twice a day and you will have success. I tried to do this as close to every 12 hours a possible. Mine grew within 3 days and every few hours I could honestly see a difference! The Red and Brown ones were the first to blossom. The White was a little slower but I was glad because mushrooms have a week shelf life in the refrigerator and it spaced them out well for me as far as use. After I harvested them, I emailed the company to find out if I could get a second crop. The customer service is EXCELLENT. They emailed me back that day with instructions to attempt this. I followed them and the red ones have lots of small babies growing very quickly. The white and brown are not doing anything yet. But I will be patient and see what happens. These are GREAT sautéed in butter and used on steak and I also make homemade Cream of Mushroom soup with them....FANTASTIC and flavorful. I love these! I do wish they were not so expensive since buying them in Whole Foods is much less, but I have a greenhouse and really like to grow my own things. It's worth it for me.

So so for beginners
One mushroom and actually looks like it's getting brown and moldy. The pink one grew well and the third mushroom is neither of the two other varieties that are shown or listed in the advertisement. I only gave it three stars because I was able to at least get mushrooms to eat and also it was pretty easy to set up but in the end I am a little disappointed. Also ignore the Lions main mushroom it is from the same distributor but that's a different review

Awesome and delicious
We have had a ball with these. Easy to get started and so so so so delicious. It’s hard to go back to normal mushrooms after eating our own fruits of labor

Price went up
I remember when this was about $20 less. I had purchased a set for myself and my nieces. It was fairly easy to use, fun. Mushrooms needed a lot of water. Can’t remember if we ended up eating them. Was going to rebuy for my 4-yr old to try now that’s he older, but at almost $30 a log, I think I’ll pass

One of 3 grew
Disappointed in this product and their customer service. I purchased this as a gift for my husband who likes to grow mushrooms. He's had great success with other brands but these had a a great rating and was a variety pack, so I purchased it. The brown oysters started right away. The white mushrooms looked like they were going to start but stopped after day one, I attached photos. The pink oyster didn't do anything. It looked like it had contamination or wasn't inoculated when it arrived. The set came with a card that gave a website to contact them, which I did because only one grew, and never heard from them. Don't buy this product. It's disappointing and expensive.

Very productive kit, very diverse yummy mushrooms
Those mushrooms are a real delicacy. Here is a brief overview on how the three different types worked for me: 1 - the red oyster mushroom This was a very vigorously growing, highly productive mushroom. I noticed that it even developed a lot of pins on the front underneath the plastic wrapper and -diverting from the instructions - I made a small opening there too and started misting that area as well. The result was that I had two areas on the block to harvest, the regular, where the X mark was and the fron which I cut open. I got a total of just 1 lb in the first flush. That mushroom however developed a bit a fishy odor, it still smelled and looked otherwise quite well. But because at this time of the year I had the block indoors I skipped the 2nd flush. 1 lb anyways sounded like a lot for that small block. We had three meals with it, from a wonderful aromatic mushroom soup, to some some sauteed ones sprinkled on top of a salad to a serious traditional side dish (mushrooms sauteed in butter, garlic and some white wine and a dollop of heavy cream. Heavenly!). They have great texture and strong flavor. If the name "Lobster mushroom" would not have been taken, then this would be a very appropriate name for those. 2- The white oyster mushroom Grew also quite vigorous but on this one I did not open another area up but just harvested the main one and am right now soaking it to prepare for the 2nd flush. The white oyster mushrooms are delightful and very versatile in the kitchen. Very mellow flavor and wonderful texture. The first flush got about 0.4 lbs 3 - The grey mushroom Very productive as well. I got 2 flushes, the first one being bigger and both together bringing it to about 1 lbs approximately. They were in an area of 63-68 deg most of the time, at night in the fifties sometimes. I misted them more than instructed, just because they were in easy reach. And they seemed to really like it.

Great customer service following issues with 2 of the original kits-replacements received
Original review: Only one of the three grew from the first shipment even though we followed the instructions meticulously. The one that grew was great. Easy instructions, but the other two just molded. Expensive for only one pod to grow. First update: wanted to comment on Forest Origins customer service- I found their website, sent an email, uploaded pictures, and they sent 2 new pods to replace the 2 that did not grow. I am hopeful these will grow but appreciate the great customer service. Second update: changed my rating to 5 stars following Forest Origins great customer service and our success growing the 2 replacement kits. These were super yummy and so much fun. Have added pictures of the pink and brown replacement grow kits.
