Absolutely Charming!
For my full review: http://tweenbookreviewsforyou.blogspot.com/If I could describe this book with one word it would be "charming." I would love to befriend Florence Waters, the sweet woman commissioned to make a new drinking fountain for Dry Creek Middle School. I would love to hang out with Sam N. and his fifth grade class for the afternoon and hear how they discovered a plot to divert the natural spring under their town. I would even love to shake hands with Mr. Walter Russ, the school principal, who had to stand up to the mean Sally Mander in order to get the new fountain...

read it as child, now reading it to my children
I loved this book. I read it as a child. Because of my dyslexia it was a harder book to read but the store was amazing. The formation that they made the book is fun and interesting. She put heart into this book. I lost this book later on in life but never forgot about it. I repurchased this book for my children. It gives wonderful example that not all great books are in chapters and paragraph format. My children and I have recently finished the first book. They loved it so much that they asked me to purchase the rest. They should arrive soon. An amazing tale told in letters about leaks and liers. Wonderful book for children for all ages.

Regarding the Fountain Rocks!
Regarding the Fountain is a very funny book with a lot of imagination. Kids in a fifth grade class uncover a deep mystery that doesn't unravel until the end... it keeps you reading. Also it has many puns, different ways of presenting the material (like a scrapbook with letters, notes, dialogues, memos ... etc.) so even the presentation is engaging. (I'm writing this review with my 11 year old daughter, a discriminating reader.) We are going to order more of the books in this series now. I think this is much like Diary of a Wimpy Kid, in that even a child who isn't a big reader would be interested.

A classic...
A fun thought provoking book for young readers. It was one of my favorites in early elementary school.

So happy I rediscovered this book
As a kid this was one of my favorite books ever. I fell in love with the whimsical illustrations, and the storyline, my god, the storyline! So ingenious and creative. I was so envious of that 5th grade class. Honestly, reading this book as a child was a magical experience. I randomly had a dream a few nights ago about the most extravagant elementary school water fountain, which stirred up memories about this book, and started my search for it, which lucky for me, ended really quickly thanks to Amazon. I cannot recommend this book more highly

Fun Reading and Using the Imagination
My ten year old granddaughter is an avid reader, so this gift for her birthday was perfect. She was sure to tell me how funny it is and how it's not like a normal book. The story is told in notes and memos and receipts that lets the reader put the pieces of the events together without the information just being spelled out to them like a regular storybook. She is thinking, she is laughing, and best of all, she is reading!

A unique story
This is an awesome book. Written as a series of communique between a exuberant artist and a rigid principal who is concealing a town secret. There are so many humorous details hidden in the text with puns and in the pictures that you find something new each time you read it. My class loves this story!
