Classic Record a Story: Little Red Riding Hood Hardcover – June 15, 2011

This record-a-story book allows parents, grandparents, or other friends and relatives of a child to create a lasting memory by recording their reading and saving it for posterity. The quality of the book is very high, as it is sturdy and well-produced. The first copy I received had a tear in the middle of the back cover, but I had no problem returning it and getting a pristine new copy. The drawings are delightful, and the version of the story is not quite as scary as the version I heard as a child. (Grandmother hides in a closet, rather than getting gobbled up by the wolf.) My husband and I took turns reading the lines, and he was a great wolf. The directions for recording are very clear.

I purchased the record aloud book "Little Red Riding Hood" in August 2011. Although purchased on Amazon, this product was sent from Publications International Ltd.. Today I tried to record the story for my granddaughter, only to find the after only 18 months the book would neither record my voice or read using the already recorded demo voice. I installed new batteries and double checked to make sure that they were installed firmly and correctly. The other two books received in this order recorded easily although the audio quality was consistently poor. From now on I will pay the extra dollars and purchase the Hallmark Read Aloud books.

Cover and inside pages we’re in great condition but the batteries were left in and they leaked making it not work. With some effort I was able to clean and scrape the battery compartment enough to get new batteries to work. My granddaughter is enjoying hearing me read to her. I can see how this can happen in used items but please remember to check that before sending used battery operated items out.

I bought this along with 2 others for my daughter. She cannot read but loves to be read too. Often. I am talking the same book several times a day. I thought this may be just the answer. All the books seemed well made and were very easy to record on. They were a little large which I loved. Little books hide under the sofas and beds. In the end my daughter just didn't like these as well. Still a good product.

I did the voice recording so the kids could hear my voice when I am not around. They are young and listen to this one and other's I have bought. They know it's me and listen to it often. Recommend for anyone who goes on trips or lives far away from relatives

Does not record well or at least my wife and I had trouble with it. Our recordings kept getting deleted or on the wrong page. Other books we have purchased worked much better.

My husband and I had a blast reading this story for our granddaughter. We laughed through the flubs, you'd think by our age we could read a simple book! My granddaughter loves it as well!Grandparents - this is a must have if you have grandchildren!
