A real STUNNER! BEAUTIFUL!
GORGEOUS! Very good to excellent fit & finish. Transitions and seams are excellent. No gaps or Ill fitment anywhere. Action is smooth with no side to side play. Locks securely with minimal up and down play. Blade is nicely centered. The edge was ok as delivered but cleaned up nicely. The covers have some variation from one side to the other that I wish wasn't present but both sides are beautiful. The shield side just fades into some grays and whites towards each end that isn't present on the opposite side. The covers shield sidedeep Navy blue has a smooth gradient into a vivid cobalt, electric and finally a sky or baby blue, gray and white towards the ends. It positively RADIATES! That red shield is absolutely stunning!I used it all week as my primary work knife as I built a small breezeway between house and garage opening boxes and packaging, trimming board edges of splinters, sharpening pencils, trimming caulk tube nozzles, cutting house wrap, tape and tar paper. It did well but its not meant to be a work knife.A little small and can be tedious to open and close quickly while your mind is on the task not the knife.Still absolutely beautiful and perfect for a gentlemens folder/dress knife and for light to medium tasks. If I could change anything I would give it brass liners like Case uses on their copperlocks. That gleaming brass would make this a real stunner!Just an exceptionally attractive knife and highly recommended. A great value in this time of $300+ knives. You could build a nice collection of 3 or 4 of these for the cost of just 1 of today's premium folders.4.5 stars

Awesome Knife that needs TLC With QC Issues Replacement Ordered
The media could not be loaded. I love this knife! Very difficult to open out of the box. Hit with some WD-40 and work that pivot. Clean it and oil it well with KPL where there is friction. Then boom! The action is so smooth now and one handed opening and closing is easy!! The QC Issues are marks on the bolsters and some minor alignment issues. Those are to be expected at this price. This knife was sharp out of the box, just strop it and slicey slicey! Highly recommended. (The replacement was much better.)

One hand operation, and razor sharp!
I have a Case Stockman which I've had for many years. Great pocket knives, and sharp enough to shave with in a pinch. The thing that drew me to this little beauty, was that I could open and close it with one hand. The shape of the blade is not something I am familiar with, but it's growing on me. Sharp as a razor too!. Go slow as you learn your way around one-handing this beauty, it's like learning a straight razor. I got it in Amber Bone and it's a gorgeous classic color. My Stockman is in the Kentucky Blue Grass color which is another favorite of mine. If you appreciate carrying a razor sharp pocket knife in your trousers for whatever ails ya, you can't go wrong with a CASE.

Great Russlock
Love this knife perfect. It was tight and hard to open but after oiling I can open and close it with 1 hand.

Give it a moment and you will like it
The media could not be loaded. So I normally am into more modern folders but the looks of this one just caught my eye. I say get it and give it a moment because when I first took it out of the box and messed with it, I was like,I hate this…but then I played with it for about two minutes and was like, wait, I love this thing. This is different than most knives but after messing with it and figuring out the way that worked for me to open it, then it clicked and I really liked it. The fit and finish are good, it’s super sharp, the weight and size are nice (smallish but useful), and despite the lock sticking out of the front it is not uncomfortable in any way. It does have a backspring and you won’t flick it open, but once you get the knack it’s smooth. Unlocking is super easy. My only wish would be a pocket clip but I knew it didn’t have that when I ordered it. If you want a super fast flicker, this isn’t it - but if you want an unusual, very functional knife, this is the ticket. BTW although I collect knives, this was my first Case but won’t be my last

Old world quality, one-handed liner lock. But not a fast one.
I got this in a shipment with a Case Peanut, as my first two Case knives. After seeing them in display cases for years and years, I had kind of dismissed them as shiny knives that some nuts collect just to try to have them all. Finally, after all those years of looking, I opened my mind a bit and bought a couple. Wow, they are really nice. They are not tactical at all. They have a high gloss finish everywhere, and the fit & finish is just great. It's kind of refreshing. These days, knives with plastic and resin handles with pocket clips are all the rage. Every wannabe Special Forces kid has one. I'll admit, I have a few myself. But if you are one of these folks, love knives in general, and have an open mind, you should really try one of these babies. Coming from the more tactical one-handed opening knives like Spyderco, I was a little wary of having a knife that didn't lock open. I noticed a couple other Case patterns that had thumb studs and a pocket clip, but it just doesn't seem in line with their traditional patterns. Seems like a bastard design.I was also a little concerned that the opening lever might be poking me in the leg or trying to rip a hole through my pocket liner. The knife is not big enough for that to happen, so it is no worry. This knife has a pretty strong back spring though, so don't expect to open this speedily. It can be opened with one hand while I hold onto my work in the other hand, but it is not super fast, as there is a good bit of resistance from the back spring. The RussLock and apparently all other Case knives comes with a nice sharp edge from the factory, but nevertheless, I took it to my ceramic V-rod sharpener (an old Smiths) and smooth it out. Even a nice sharp factory edge is coarse and needs some honing to be all it can be. Without that extra bit of honing, the factory edge will not last that long. There is no middle stop to keep the blade from closing, as some of Case's knives have. There is a gently curved convex area on the back of the blade; this is where one's thumb would rest when really cutting hard. Most of the time, this will not be needed, as the knife should be kept razor sharp. You'll notice I've said mostly good things about the knife, so why only 4 stars? -1/2 a star for having such a strong back spring. It isn't needed, since it has a locking spring. It could either be a light back spring, or not have a back spring at all. -1/2 star for the somewhat uneven application of the dye to the bone handle. I bought this as a dark red bone handle, but it is only dark red in the jigging immediately surrounding the Case shield. Toward the edges, it is a medium red. That's still OK with me. But on the scale on the side opposite the shield, it is actually more of a dark pink! toward the top end, it is VERY pink, and on the edge of that scale, there is an area where the dye didn't get applied at all. To notice this, one would have to be looking closely, but this is not the kind of oversight I expect on a nearly $50 knife.I'm happy with this purchase. The quality of materials, fit, and finish are all great. It was an expensive purchase for a smallish one-handed locking knife, but one can certainly see where the money went. ;)
