Amazing book! Couldn't put it down! If you have a spot in your heart for the homeless, poor, hungry, you will love this book! Pastor Rudy is an amazing man and pastor, who illuminates the spirit of the Lord! He does more then just preach the word; he lives it! He inspires others to live it also! In a city as large as Houston, TX, with so many homeless, Pastor Rudy has bridged the gap between the have's and the have not's. He has brought people from different backgrounds together and taught them and challenged them to cross from their comfort zone to reach out and TOUCH another human being, and to see the miracles that can transform just from this simple gesture! After reading Pastor Rudy's book, I wanted to change the world more then ever! It has been almost a year since I finished this book and it has changed how I approach homelessness and homeless people. It reminds me everyday to reach out to the homeless, the poor and the hungry with words of encouragment, and to reach out and touch them! I will definitly read this book again as a refresher soon! It is one that I will keep in my collection forever and refer back to many times. I also have recommended it to many of my friends and family who also enjoyed it!

The message of love- real, agape love permeates this book. I learned a lot about myself and my strengths and weaknesses when it comes to the type of love Jesus called us all to have. "Touch" will make you want to look into yourself and "fix" your weaknesses before we meet Him. So that we can say I loved as You love.This book is particularly good for a conservative, caucasian, suburbanite men(like me) whom have not witnessed true poverty, and its associated ills first hand. Thank you Pastor Rudy for waking me up. My only dislike was that I felt in writing the book, Rudy went back to his days of extreme sin a little too often, bordering on glorifying the sin. However, I give the benefit of the doubt on this because his past is part and parcel of what makes this book (and his life in Christ)so powerful!

A very important book for those who seek to understand and encourage people who would benefit from the attention from a caring individual. The story of Rudy Rasmus is an exceptional one. With the help a patient, insightful minister, he has transformed his life from a survival mode of living that was detrimental to him and those around him to a selfless, caring mode of living and working with intercity poor that exponentially increased the number of lives that could have been helped by the attention of his mentor working alone. I was introduced to the book as required reading for a seminary course on "Being With the Poor."

So inspiring. After meeting brother Rudy, his life and love for Christ is a great witness to his testimony and the churches outpouring to the least of these.

I have learned much from this book. I grew up so far from this reality that I didn't even know some of it existed.The application of what I have learned has made me a better person and a much better follower of Jesus Christ.

This is a very good, through, and bible based book. It is easy to read, but calls for real challenges to serve Christ.

very informative help with understanding the concept working with people in general the topic it was a little confusing but the information contained was very very helpful did refer to others

Absolutely wonderful. I am hoping to plan a trip to Houston to visit Rudy's church and feel this love he proclaims. It has changed my prospective toward the "least of these".
