Not sure of the inside diameter... I can tell you, it's an absolute pain to get on the rim. I've put two of these on my GXL. Both times it involved heating the thing up in the oven, using pry bars, a rubber mallet, and a whole lot of core strength! To ensure they're properly seated, the fit is very, very tight.

Yes, it can go through grass. Gravel road I haven’t tried but I am sure it would difficult with the small wheels it has.

We've had no problems with ours. My kids use it sporadically and we've had it for three years easily.
