My wrist is just under 14cm, will the S/M be too large?

Not sure but my wrist is 20 cm and I had xl size.

How do I know what size to order

Look at the size of your wrist. If you are female or of smaller stature, choose a small or medium. If you are male & of average size, choose either large or X-large. I am a 6 foot Male with quite large hands, so I chose an X-Large & it fits very well. They are very comfortable & can be adjusted easily with the Velcro straps.

None of the straps are stretchy are they? I don’t want stretchy straps

All the straps are stretchy and the centre wraparound strap is almost impossible to undo - the hook and eye fastening is too strong.
