Color Therapy: An Anti-Stress Coloring Book

Heavy paper, lots of pages, and the pre-colored sections were good for my elderly/disabled friends
I love, love, love this coloring book! The paper/pages are nice and thick to prevent bleedthrough; I like that some pages are colored in and you can add your own lines and line details; I like that some of the backgrounds are pre-colored so you can fill in the remaining areas and make it look almost professional. There are a great variety of pictures here, and a large number. Another way this book worked especially well for me is that I shared it with friends--one of whom suffered a stroke and has poor coordination, and another who is elderly and has limited vision: though neither friend could color within the tiny, detailed lines, both found pages they could enjoy coloring by coloring bunches of smaller segments in one color, as one larger segment--as with flowers, or the face of the lion on the cover versus his mane. The pages with the pre-colored backgrounds allowed the white to-be-colored images to stand out so they could color them easily in one color and still have a fun, attractive experience! I will be ordering more of this particular book for myself and for all my friends and family!

Beautiful coloring book
Beautiful artwork and intricate designs make this a joy to color. There are so many pages and each page is on heavy, nice paper that makes coloring a breeze with any pencil/pen or marker. The only thing I don't like about it is that some of the pages are already colored. The pages where the background is shaded do not bother me, but other pages have some areas already shaded as if you are to finish what they've started. I'd rather choose my own colors. I do enjoy the background colors because they look like watercolor and are very vibrant. Overall, this is a LOVELY coloring book and I am very glad that I purchased it.

Great for anxiety and creativity!
This is not at all what I expected it to be, but I am in love with it! I have an anxiety issue and this book is SO helpful. The pages are in sections by color in order of the color wheel and some pages are basic fill in the color, some of them you are supposed to add texture or finish the pattern and on every page there are parts already colored to remind you what color section you're on and to stimulate creativity. The hard cover is durable and protects it from curling and anything from colored pencil to fine point markers work great on the thick pages. 10/10 would recommend to anyone who needs a constructive outlet or even just an ongoing creative project!

IF THE PAGES WERE ONE-SIDED THIS BOOK WOULD BE PERFECT!!!!
I love this book, but I had to give it 4 stars. It is a beautiful book, with gorgeous picture to color. It's also educational, it has several pages that explain the color wheel, etc. The book is hard cover and bound securely, I've had mine bent back all the way and the pages are still nice and snug. Sadly the pages are printed on both side, therefore limiting the media you can use to color the picture. Markers and some gel pens, bleed through, ruining the drawing on the other side. The only media, that I've been able to use in this book is colored pencils, which are very limiting. I've seen other books published by the same author in the same format and I would have bought them in an instant if only the pages were thicker or one sided to prevent bleed through. I have several book with 2 sided illustrations and they all bleed through. Now, I've decided, that no matter how much I love a book I won't buy it unless the pictures are printedon one side of the page only, that way, I can use whatever media I prefer and not lose pictures to bleed through.

In the world of the adult coloring book trend this book ranks at the top of my list! The pages are thick enough to prevent markers from bleeding through and sturdy enough not to shred under the pressure of a sharp colored pencil. The lines and details provided make for great pictures even before I've started to color them! I love that the front and back covers are hard so that I don't have to worry about whether or not I may need a table or desk to do my coloring. I can sit comfortably on the couch, floor, chair, or anywhere I want and color without a problem.

Amazing!! A REAL art therapy book. FINALLY!!
EXCELLENT!! Makes you want to engage with the book and color + doodle if you like. I love how this series of books gives you something to respond to by having bits where the background or foreground has some color already. I love how it's designed as a whole and you can tell these people know what they're doing in the art therapy front. There aren't many actual art therapy coloring books out there other than the color me series, which is also great! Two big thumbs up!! The color therapy is my favorite so far but the entire series is wonderful and worth every penny!!

The book is great! It fulfills its purpose in so many ways
The book is great! It fulfills its purpose in so many ways. There are pages that aren't as intricate to leave room for mindless doodling, yet still plenty of pages with intricate and beautiful pictures to color. They are themed by color and complimentary colors so some of the backgrounds of the pages are already colored. I'm pretty sure that's just because certain colors calm and relax. I would buy for any age over 10

Great coloring book, not recommended for children
Hard cover book with large and many very detailed drawings (not recommended for small children to color). The book is divided into "chapters" that are arranged by color! (e.g. red, blue, green, yellow, etc.). There are pages that seem empty but allow for one to add one's own contribution to a drawing and continue coloring on.I like the hard cover because I can color anywhere since the cover is hard enough to act as a desk should I not have any surface to rest the book. I color with pencils and crayons but the pages seem to be thick enough and heavy enough to be able to use markers. Unless your child has the patience to color VERY detailed drawings, I don't suggest this book for children.
