Product description The story of Gavigna began over 100 years ago with Jose Maria and Ramon Gavigna brothers. For a better life, two brothers moved from their hometown of the Basque region of Spain and traveled to soil including rich coffee in the Southern Cuban Mountains. On this highly productive land, their plantation, Hashiendabuenos Eyeles began their reputation as the center of the coffee community in the region. As a young child, Don Francisco worked in the field with his father and learned the secrets of cultivating fine coffee. He helped the hands of the fields sow seeds for hours and encouraged small plants to grow. Don Francisco also learned how to pick and dry the beans and decide which is the best quality and wouldn't over time. From the day to today, only the highest quality beans are chosen for roasting under the Gaviña label. Today, these same traditions are also inhabited by Gaviña. Four children of Don Francisco, jose, leonol, pedro, and 'Paco' learned the skills of coffee cultivation from his father. A company located in the US today enjoys the benefits that this family has experienced in their land. It is unusual to get coffee from a family owned company that pioneered one of the earliest coffee farms. Finding a coffee company operated by a born and growing in an artistic occupation is uncommon. The Gaviña family is dedicated to selecting the best coffee available and serving at the right prices, providing the best value in today's businesses.
