Works well with a connection caveat
I just installed 12 units in my house. As a background, I had a different brand installed in my house and second home. All worked well. After a year or so, my wifi was upgraded at my house. Now I coukd not reconnect the units to the wifi in my house. But the units continued to work at my second home. So, after not having leak detectors for some time, the hose on our dishwasher broke and was flooding our kitchen. Luckily I was right there when it happened and shut the water down, which brings me back to how important leak detectors are. So after searching, I decided on the Moen. I easily installed all 12 Moen units. One did come with a dead battery. The issue I see that many have is that these units have to connect up to Wifi 2.4 and not your general 5.0 wifi. And some wifi appliancees out there are pretty ‘picky’ on which 2.4 works. That’s my experience. These Moen installed easily, as my 2.4 wifi worked well with them. My experience has been some brands will work with my wifi and others won’t. I’m lucky with the Moen.I also tested one by purposely putting a very slight film of water around a detector. And it worked flawlessly by sending an alert. I also liked the app very much. Gives you the temp and humidity. And you can set the type notifications and what info.So far I’m very pleased. Just be aware of those who had trouble connecting or staying connected. Comes down to the quality of their Wi-Fi. Like I said, some brands will work for you, and others won’t. I’m happy.

Pairing with the Moen App if you have Eero.
The Moen Smart Leak Detectors do not easily pair if you have Eero WiFi and use the main WiFi Network. It immediately connects using the Eero Guest WiFi Network. Instructions to do this are not on the manual. The Moen Customer Service Rep quickly helped me solve the pairing issue.

Terrible product
I own a Moen Smart Kitchen Faucet that uses the Moen app and it's great. I was interested in having a one-stop shop for all my smart devices and thought staying in the Moen ecosystem would be a good bet. To my disappointment, this product is just a disaster. First of all, you need a completely different app for this (the "Flo" app vs. the "Moen" app), and the Flo app feels like it was written by amateurs. Why would the Moen app have "add device" option to add other Moen products by not this, and require a different app for this?!!Second, that app is TERRIBLE. The Moen App works great on iPad and iPhone, but the Flo app is iPhone only, so the experience on iPad is awful. Second, this is a WATER SENSOR. It should be like 5 minutes to get this thing installed. Instead, you need a separate(!) Moen account, and you have to answer more questions about your home than what it takes to get a mortgage before it even lets you add a device. Then adding the device to the app doesn't even work! It tells you to turn on the device then use the app to connect to the device wifi, then it says it will take "up to a minute to connect", but even after you connect to the wifi, it just hangs.I spent about an hour on this before concluding this whole thing is a Lemon. Moen, this is an awful product you shouldn't be selling. I'll be going with another solution.

Gets the job done, but I wish it had a few more flourishes
I use these to detect if my dehumidifier bucket is full so I can go empty it in my shed. I've been using it for a little under a year, so here are my thoughts:- I really do wish there was a way to run these off of wall power. The battery lasts a long time when it's not beeping, but let's say I'm at work and it starts beeping, the battery will likely be dead by the time I get home. I solved this by getting rechargeable CR123A batteries, but I essentially have to have a rotating pack of them to replace in case it goes off.- After the detector puck has been submerged in water, it takes a while to dry out completely. That means you can remove it from water, dry it off, plug it back in, and the meter will still go off! It's annoying, but because I have several of these I can just keep a rotation of dry pucks as well.Otherwise it works well, and it does detect the presence of water. I've never had a Wifi signal problem with it, and it reconnects to the Wifi flawlessly every time I replace the battery.I had been looking for a water detector that had an external puck AND could be plugged in, but I settled for this one.I do plan on putting more of these around the house wherever water is.

Excellent product!
Excellent product even without the main shut off valve. I've had these for several months so far. They were very easy to install and easy to set up with wifi. They never seem to go offline either. I'm very impressed!! The sensors pick up even a drop of water. I had thrown a wet shower cap under my sink along with all my other toiletries and even the few drops that fell from the shower cap was detected. I got a alert on my app and an email alert. I'm definitely going to consider investing in the shut off valve. My only complaint is that the sticky pad that holds the sensor box on the wall is VERY WEAK! The stick doesn't hold up for more than an hour. Moen should consider correcting this. Otherwise, it's an excellent product! It still works well and does the job even when not stuck to the wall so it deserves 5 stars. You can't go wrong with this!

Worth it!
To me this was a solid purchase. Followed the directions was simple and the app is easy to use. I am comforted knowing that when I leave my home I don’t have to worry about having a flood. It’s great to stay in touch with your home!

Easy to setup, works great
I've been looking around for a battery operated water sensor, this one was a little on the pricey side. But the app was easy to use and setup. If you have a bandsteering unified wifi you might momentarily lose connection during setup if your phone is setup to use 5Gz, as this is a 2.4Ghz, the device will momentarily show disconnected during the setup phase, disconnect from your wifi and reconnect and you'll be fine, I had it up and running in 10 minutes. I dont know why people were complaining finding batteries for this, any of the big box stores have them. And if yours came with a dead battery return it for a new one.

Water Leak Detection Hero
Used in the water leak subsystem of my home automation system. Tried several commercial water leak detection products but all came with a discrete sensor that only detects a leak if placed in a depression under the source. This sensor cord is so much better as it is 6 feet in length and can be connected in a chain of up to 3. It can detect water leaks along its whole length. Uses. Standard 3.5 mm connection. I have this connected via low voltage wiring to an ESP32 microcontroller that can handle 5 of these detector cords For most non-diy people, I would suggest replacing the discrete sensor that comes with most leak detection products with this cord sensor. Those discrete sensors are not very useful where you are not able to place them in sump directly under your washing machine for example. They are likely to miss small leaks but would work well if a pipe burst...

Not usable in the UK
Before buying these verify that your region is supported, in particular don't buy these if you live in the UK. The required iOS app is not available in the UK App Store and presumably the same is true for Android. In theory they can be used without the app, but doing this requires a firmware update, which requires the app.Moen support confirmed to me that these are, essentially, expensive paperweights if you live in the UK. I'm not sure why they are available for sale on UK Amazon in the first place.
