This product deserves zero stars. Did not come with manuel or remote but after looking up instructions and setting it up it leaked water all over the floor in under five minutes. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY OR TIME ON THIS JUNK

I purchased this as a low power cooling unit for my RV. We camp in desert areas without hookups so this seemed to be a good match. The unit seems well built and mechanically operates as described. I rated it only 2 stars though because the effective operating range seems very small. Our test of the unit was in Eastern Oregon at 85F and 30% humidity. In cooling mode the air coming out felt cooler than the ambient air. However the unit was unable to even budge the overall temp in my 184 square foot RV. I know swamp coolers work, but this one did not do the job I needed.Update: retested at 94 degrees and 7% humidity. The air coming out was barely cooler than the ambient air, even using the cooling blocks. DON'T BUY THIS PRODUCT.

My son's air conditioner went out. It took a few weeks of researching companies/best air conditioners before getting a new one. In the meantime, my granddaughter was complaining about how hard it was to sleep at night without it. So, I bought the Censtech Evaporative Air Cooler to see if it would help. It cooled off her room enough for her to sleep comfortably until her dad got a new one. In the meantime, it will be useful for emergencies or use on the outdoor screened-in porch.

Let's set realistic expectations: this is not an air conditioner. It will not properly cool your room like an air conditioner does, and it doesn't fill the role of a conventional AC unit.HOWEVERThis is what is known informally as a "swamp cooler." When water evaporates from a liquid to water vapor, it produces a cooling effect. This device has a tank that you fill with water, and then it circulates that water through a bunch of "fins" while blowing air over them to encourage evaporation. This is how you get the subtle cooling effect.I love this machine, because not only does it cool your room, but it also humidifies while doing it. Conventional AC units dry out the air, which is often worse for sleep quality.I have had mine for over a year and used it regularly, including overnight. It has a built in timer function which is super useful. As far as cleaning goes, I used some diluted vinegar and ran it through the machine once every month approximately, and it has stayed clean. The noise is mostly fan noise, and doesn't bother me too much. For build quality, it's plastic, but not bad. The ice packs the machine comes with do add a noticeable amount of extra cooling. Filling the tank is definitely a bit of a hassle and affects ease of use, but not bad.4 stars because it is marketed as an AC replacement, which it isn't. More of a cooling humidifier. Very Nice!

Awful. Not cold at all no matter what is done. Bulky. Cheaply made. Don’t buy.

I wanted to really like this unit, but a few weeks in and I’m not so sure.Pros:- attractive design- fits nicely into any space- fan works wellCons:- small for floor use (I neglected to read dimensions and instead went by product image of the woman next to the unit… much smaller than that!)- only two vent openings move air, the rest are closed off as part of the cooling system.- cooling with ice packs didn’t make a huge difference.- water evaporation is drippy, noisy, and caused me to loose sleep bc of the continual loud drippy sounds. Had to turn off cooling mode.I’m only using this currently as a fan, not as the a/c. I’ll likely be returning.

This worked as a very expensive fan. Even with ice water and ice packs in the bottom, it did not perform like an air conditioner. The air that blew our was a little colder than normal, but no where near what an air conditioner would. It definitely would not be able to cool down even a small room. I returned this item and will be purchasing a window unit.

I definitely am questioning most of these reviews. It's nice if you're sitting right in front of it. I have a thermometer on a fan in my apartment, and using the device made no difference in the room temperature, in fact the temperature went up in the house as temperatures outside climed higher. Definitely not impressed....unless it's placed in front of me. Thumbs down unfortunately.
