Over -priced
Installed easily but when you see the simplicity of design and plastic material, the product is over-priced.

Just what the customer ordered!!
This was a particular product that my customer wanted. He did not feel comfortable ordering one, so asked if I would get it. Came a day before expected and was extremely simple to install. No tools needed, except for a ladder(vertically challenged) to be able to reach the over head door opener. It is only plastic, but I understand the reason behind that. It will give my customer the piece of mind they were looking for!

Glad to have the added security
These are easy to install, but I found that the set screw that holds the device to the “J bar” (the metal piece that connects your opener to the door) wasn’t able to keep the device from sliding down after repeated door cycles. You can only tighten the screw so much because the plastic deforms. If your J bar has a hole in the right place, and the set screw goes into the hole, it’s probably no issue. I resolved mine by drilling an extra hole through the J bar at the right place and putting a small machine screw through that hole and securing it with a nut. You don’t want to tighten that too much, because again, it’s plastic. To be sure the not doesn’t come loose, I put some siliconized latex caulk over the threads before I put the nut on. That will allow me to take it off if I ever need to. I also elected to leave a small loop of the rope that allows you to release the trolley if you have to manually open the door. The loop isn’t big enough to be able to grab from the outside because the shield does its job very well. I have a dowel with a screw eye in it hanging in my garage, and if I need to pull the level down to release the door from the trolley, that’s the tool I’ll use. It’s a good item. Glad I bought two of them.

Good Circumvention but Overpriced
Seemingly works as intended. "Fishing" a coat hanger above the garage door and around it would appear to be difficult, if not impossible. However, as it's just a molded piece of plastic (with plastic fittings and cheap turn screw) it's significantly overpriced for what it is... but since this a documented tactic that thieves try, you need to have a circumvention in place—whether this, something similar, or a homemade hack. At time of purchase, the seller (The Garage Shield) shipped in flimsy mail padder, charged $6 for shipping, and didn't have the "Garage Shield" sticker actually on product.
