How far does the first rod extend out from the wall? Are there only two brackets or additional brackets for support?

The top rod (curtain rod) only extends out a little further from the wall than the bottom rod. It is just enough to allow the curtain to hang in front of a sheer. There are two brackets. This was really easy to install and looks really nice.

Can these rods be mounted to the ceiling?

Likely wouldn't be optimal as there are 2 sets of curtain rods staggared in front of each other, if mounted on the ceiling the 2 sets of rods would be at an awkward position

Is the larger rod set right in front of the smaller rod? Or is it staggered where the smaller one is below. It's hard to tell from the picture.

What is the "trick" for installing the top screw in the brackets?
