i can finally sleep!
I CAN SLEEP NOW!!! i have a crossbow. borrowed, but still. the arrows that came with it were bent and useless. so, what does this have to do with the product, you may ask. you see, there was this psycho squirrel that lives in a tree outside the bedroom side of my house. every morning around 4:30-5:00, this meth head squirrel would just start screaming! for no reason at all...just screaming. after a few weeks of this, i finally grew tired of it. literally. i thought about shooting him, but i live in the city, and i would get less sleep in jail, so i opted for another silent solution. a crossbow. well i borrowed my buddys xbow and went to sight it in. i got it pretty close to par. next morning there's that damn squirrel really bitching about something. so i raised my window and took a shot. the arrow zinged wide left off into the distance and hit what i assume was the neighbors shed...i hope. so i really looked and the other arrows were bent as well. so that evening i ordered these. they came in really quick. thank god. and i sighted in the xbow for real. i'm hitting coke bottle caps at 25 yards. very accurate! so i'm really hoping that squirrel is back in the morning. i really want sleep, but i want that damn squirrel even more. sure enough. that squirrel maybe crazy, but he was anything if not punctual. 5:am. he is screaming again. i ease my window open, he is on a lower branch this time!!! yes!!! i get him in the crosshairs. take in a deep breath, hold it. flip the safety forward. and i squeeze the trigger. heaven, sweet and wonderful silence! the squirrel is on the ground, never to scream again....thank you barnett!i lay down. close my eyes....i wake up and i'm late for work!

Excellent bolts for crossbows
These bolts work well with my Barnett Jackal crossbow. Barnett Outdoors Carbon Crossbow 20-Inch Arrows with Field Points (5 Pack) These are Easton bolts and the quality is there. I did get one of the bolts where the fletching was a bit mis-shapen/not true, but in practicing with it, I didn't see a difference from the others...though disappointed with this one appearance....hence, the knockdown to four stars. I use 125gr field points to practice and Rage Crossbow X 2-Blade Broadhead in 125gr. for hunting The bolts fly true in practice to where I have gone 60yds with acuracy. Got a nice doe last weekend...see my review for the Rage broadheads. If there is any improvement with these that I would make is that I wish there were additional fletching color choices. Red & white is not a good choice for turkey hunting.

400 grain total weight and includes field points
I bought these for target shooting and fun on the archery range. The manual for my Barnett Wildcat C6 crossbow is very explicit about minimum 400 grain minimum weight for bolts and some of the questions and reviews here suggested anywhere from about 360 grains to 410 grains.I also liked these because they included the 100 grain field points, which are not included on some other crossbow bolts sold on Amazon. I needed them anyway, so it was nice having them included.Although nominally these are the same as the Barnett Headhunter bolts that came with the crossbow, there were some noticeable differences that I chalk up to changes to the design and manufacture since I purchased my crossbow several years ago. Both are branded as Barnett Headhunter Custom Carbon 20". The originals are co-branded with Easton and say "Made in USA." These are not co-branded with Easton and the box says "Made in China."As for the bolts themselves, they are identical in weight (within the margin of error on my electronic scale of 0.1 g or about 1.5 grain), however the shaft in these seems to be almost imperceptibly larger in diameter and more of a satin finish, rather than the smoother glossier finish of the originals. The fletching is shorter, as well, and the nocking are slightly different, with these being the true half-moon style required by the crossbow (the originals having 3 protursions creating a half-moon-like nock).Of perhaps more importance, the center of gravity (the point where the bolt balances front to back) is about half an inch farther forward (toward the point) on these, compared with the originals, which may impact trajectory slightly. Finally, the weights: The box is labeled as 415 grain total weight. However, weighing all 5, the average is 400.1 grains each (+/- 1.5 grains). Individually, they are within the +/- 1.5 grain precision of my scale. I got the same results on a different electronic scale just to be sure. Perhaps the 415 grain labeled weight is due to crappy rounding in either measurement or conversion (if measured on scale reading out grams and not grains). When I purchased these, they were sold by Barnett and not a third-party seller, so I believe them to be genuine, and not a look-alike copy. They appear to be high quality, though different from previous Barnett Headhunter bolts in subtle, but noticeable way. Most disturbing is the significant discrepancy between the labelled weight of 415 grain and the actual weight of 400 grain. Although these are currently made and sold by Barnett, they are definitely different than previous Headhunter bolts you may have purchased or seen reviewed here.
