Has this been anyone's miracle product? I have long, straight hair that has NEVER held a curl, and I am considering buying this.

Yes! I’m getting ready to order my second wand. I had my old one for 5 years and it died on me, it is the only curling tool I use. I have wavy, fine but thick hair. I have the 1-1 1/2 inch wand. I used to have long hair but then cut it a few years ago to a lob and that size wand works great on both lengths. Since my hair is wavy I use the wand on parts of my hair that tend to get frizzy and straight and I just blend that in with the rest of my waves. You can create beach waves, traditional curls, and even blowout-looking type curls all depending on how you wrap the hair around the barrel. I love this wand, and the price is a steal! I highly recommend it!

Do you suggest the 1/2-1in or the 1-1 1/2in wand?

It depends on the length of your hair. I got the 1/2 to 1 inch wand because my hair is up to my shoulder. If you have a longer hair I suggest that you get the 1 to 1-1/2 inches wand.

Does it have different heat settings?

Yes! You can adjust the Heat yourself in certain increments. It doesn't have too many options though. But enough!

which size is better for those crazy curls?

Smaller sizes yield tighter curls. Bigger curlers yield big waves
