Does anyone know if each box has different smashers or are they all the same?

There are different series of Smashers and within them there is a variety. We ordered the Sports Edition and all toys were sports themed. We also had two of the 'rare' ones mixed in. That makes me think that each box might be slightly different within a set number of characters.

Are they the same size as the Smashems?

I am not sure - I will say they are about the size of a ping pong ball
